Dear Encyclopedia of Haunted Places contributor,
The book is done and making its way around the world to
bookstores now!
Let me say that I'm proud to have been a part of this project
and I know you will be too. Thank you again for taking part in
a real first -- paranormal investigators from around the world
coming together on the same pages to talk about the locations
we know best!
Here are some answers to some of the common questions you may
have:
When will I get my copy?
If you made three or more contributions to the book, your copy
(or copies) will be mailed out via US Postal Media Mail by
August 10th. Please note, it can take as little as one week to
as long as six weeks for the books to arrive.
When will the books be on the shelves of my local
bookstore?
By August 15th you should start seeing the book at the big
chains like Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. The smaller,
independent bookstores can take a little longer. It can take
up to six weeks to fully distribute a book. By all means, ask
your local bookseller to stock the Encyclopedia of Haunted
Places!
Can I buy copies at a discount?
Yes you can! As a contributor to this book you are
entitled to a 40% discount off of the cover price. To
order copies from the publisher, call toll free (in the U.S.)
1-800-227-3371 or from outside of the U.S., call
+1.201.848.0310 and ask for Laurie Kelly-Pye. Let her know
you're a contributor to the book (she has the list of
contributors) and she'll arrange the rest. They need payment
in advance, they can take credit card orders over the phone,
and you will need to pay for shipping. If
you have any trouble with the order (if they say they don't
know what you're talking about) email Jeff at: info@ghostvillage.com
and he'll get it straightened out.
Can I sell copies?
Yes you can. You can order them for 40% off and sell them for
full price. (Be sure to autograph them for your buyers!)
How else can I make money with this book?
If you have a Web site, you can easily join Amazon.com or

your Web site you can earn a commission on sales of the book
electronically.

These affiliate programs are good for just about any item the
online stores sell and is a great way to earn some extra money
with your Web site. We have created some graphics and banner
ads you can use on your site to promote the book. Click
here for graphics.
How can I use this book to further my own work?
First, it's a great feather in your cap. You can list the book
when discussing your credentials and expertise in the field of
paranormal research, and you can use the book to publicize
yourself and your group. How, you ask? Contact your
local radio stations and newspapers. Let them know that there
is a local author who can talk about some local haunts. Both
radio and newspaper producers are looking for people like
yourself with credentials and experience (especially as we get
closer to Halloween) to discuss these subjects at a local
level. Don't be shy -- the local media is looking for you,
sometimes you just need to tell them that you're there. Please
note that we're putting together some press releases that you
can use to help promote yourselves. It's important not to send
out the press release too early because if you send one to
your local radio station in, say, late August -- it's likely
they will forget about you by Halloween. This page will be
updated when the press releases are ready.
Any other question? Feel free to email
Jeff.
