Message Board FAQ Support

The FAQ list below is to help you with some common community message board technical issues.

1. I've registered but where is my validation email?
2. I've validated my email address, but I can't login.
3. I can login, but as soon as I go to post, it says I'm not logged in.
4. Okay, my cookies are enabled, Ghostvillage.com has been added to my trusted sites category, but I still can't login/post.
5. I've deleted my cookies, and it still doesn't recognize my username/password.

1. I've registered but where is my validation email?
When you register, Ghostvillage.com automatically sends out the validation email instantly. However, it is possible that some email servers don't deliver the message right away (email volume may slow the message down by a few minutes). Consider waiting up to 10 minutes to receive the message. If you still don't see the email come in, check your bulk mail/spam folder. You may need to add the email address info@ghostvillage.com to your green/approved senders list.

2. I've validated my email address, but I can't login.
99% of the time this is a cookies issue. Ghostvillage.com message boards requires your browser's cookies to be enabled in order to remember you're logged in. Here's how to enable cookies in Microsoft Internet Explorer:

Step 1. Go to the "Tools" menu and select Internet Options

Step 2. Click on the "Privacy" tab across the top and then click on the button that says "sites."

Step 3. Under "Address of Web site" type: http://www.ghostvillage.com and click the "Allow" button. Then click the "OK" button at the bottom of this screen, and the "OK" button at the bottom of the first screen and you should be all set to log in to Ghostvillage.com.

3. I can login, but as soon as I go to post, it says I'm not logged in.
This is also a cookies issue. See FAQ #2 on how to enable your cookies.

4. Okay, my cookies are enabled, Ghostvillage.com has been added to my trusted sites category, but I still can't login.
This is still a cookies issue, but something is confused somewhere. Here's two ways to fix it.

First way: Go to the main page of the message board here. Then scroll down to near the bottom and click on link that says "delete all cookies set by this board." Then close all instances of your Web browser. Open your Web browser again, then try logging in to Ghostvillage.com. If this doesn't work, try the second way.

Second way: Delete your cookies. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to Tools and select "Internet Options"

Click on the button that says "delete cookies." Then close all instances of your Web browser. Open your Web browser again, then try logging in to Ghostvillage.com.

5. I've deleted my cookies, and it still doesn't recognize my username/password.
Are you using the correct login ID? When you registered, you were asked to give a login username and a login display name. Most people opt to make these the same. But if you made them different, you must use your login username to login to the system, not your display name.
