HAVANA- The Cuban Coast Guard had intercepted an unmanned ship, which is presumed to be the SS Cotopaxi, a tramp steamer which vanished in December 1925 and has since been connected to the legend of the Bermuda Triangle.

On may 16 the ship was spotted near a restricted military zone, after unsuccessful attempts to communicate with the crew, Cuban Coast Guard reached it.  With no one on board they were surprised to find that the ship was actually a nearly 100-year old steamer identified as the Cotopaxi, a name famously associated with the legend of the Bermuda Triangle.

While searching the ship captain’s logbook was discovered. It was, indeed, associated with the Clinchfield Navigation Company, the owners of the SS Cotopaxi, but hasn’t brought any clue concerning what happened to the ship over the last 90 years

So...this ship is 'presumed' to be the Cotopaxi. The captain's logbook indicates that the ship is 'associated' with the company that owned the Cotopaxi...  I dunno, you would think that even with a preliminary search of the ship, information would be a bit more solid before putting this news out to the world.  Something doesn't seem right here...   :/

oh, you heard it?  I didn't think it was that loud.  wink.png

Yeah, I mean...there are registration numbers that can be found on this ship and verified very simply.  Looking through the captain's logbook might provide information, but it wouldn't be the first place to look if you want to identify an abandoned vessel.

Was this article written by the same people who write/appear on "Ancient Aliens"?

No, of course I don't have any sort of proof,

but that doesn't mean it's not true...

lol. Nah, mine was reacting the same way. Just something about how the authors worded it. Oh yeah, the presumed. Akin to the infamous as$ume. And you know what that'd make of them.

And it probably was written by them.
