Criminal on the run, Marion Crane(Anne Heche) Takes refuge at the motel opperated by Norman Bates(Vince Vaughn)-A troubled man whose victims encounter a grisly death at the hands of his "mother". Marion soon becomes the next victim and he disappearance prompts inquiries from her sister(Julianne Moore) and a private investigator(William H. Macy). They both soon discover the morbid bond linking Norman to his "mother" at the Bates Motel. Relive the terror in acclaimed director Gus Van Sant's all-new version of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece of suspense.....PSYCHO"-Taken from the back cover of the Universal Pictures movie "Psycho"

Sound promising? Maybe a remake that is good, interesting...even BETTER!? Nope, not at all. This movie was horrible. It killed the story line and sucked the suspense right out of the original...the fact that it even borrows the same name is a disgrace. It begins in modern-day phoenix. A woman who works for a real-estate(maybe?) company is handed $400,000 by a rich southerner who buys some land. She's told to deposit the cash in the safety-deposit box. She doesn't, she takes the money and runs. There's an odd encounter with a cop, she buys a new car and stops at the Bates Motel. They attempt to re-create the shower scene...it isn't the same. The movie just gets worse from there. On part confused me though....the "mother" slashes the investigator at the top os the stairs and this image of a nude woman with a blind fold flashes up for a few seconds.....then she slashes a couple more times and the image of a calf in the middle of the road whil it's raining flashes up. Either way...it was certainly a horrible movie. Anyone else see this film?
