Oh and by the way I found this quote and wanted to see if anybody knows the truth behind this or wants to check it out:

"I’ve been to the cemetery. In 1982, before the developement, I walked down the steps. They are in front of a grave marker that says, “Order of Pendo” at the bottom of it. The headstone is huge, you can’t miss it. Anyways, when I walked down the thirteen steps, I saw fire, and when I turned around I saw the steps going up into blackness. I ran up the steps and everything was okay. I ran out of the cemetery, got into my Ford, and drove away as fast as I could. At first my car wouldn’t start."

This is not me saying this, I just found it on the internet.
If we can see our own reflection in the mirror, then what does a ghost see when they appear?

Hi I have grown up at the maltby cemetary and I am now 45 years old. Dont get me wrong its a very un settling place at times. many accidents some fatal in front of cemetary on Paradise lake road. The lady in Blue and a small boy have known to be seen on the road as well. As far as Order of Pendo is concerned .. this was a group of settlers that got together and helped each other in hard times. They were the brotherhood if you will. Almost like a 1% tatoo you see on the original bikers. There was nothing evil about this group and it still lives on today. The doolittle family cemetary has been through allot of torture. However the doolittles were good people. I do know of the ver cold spots on paradise lake road in front or just past the driveway to the cemetary.. go there on a hot day walk in front and you will feel them..

Yes stories like this are crazy. There was several cars and trucks wrecked on the side of the hill that leads up to the cemetery, people tryin to leave fast? I dont Know It is crazy in there though I went at night and right before dawn and there was so much fog. It was right out of a Stephen King novel

To be respectful of the owner's privacy, this information should probaby be given in a PM, and then ONLY with the owner's permission.

Ok, for those of you wanting to know about this place. Here is my story. Back in 1983 our Friday nights were , get beer and go someplace to drink. The place of the night was Maltby. We had heard all the stories and I have had my share of ( sightings ) . If you are open to the other side, you are more prone to be effected by it. I didnt feel good about going to this place, gut feeling. And Im not one to get scared, Im the one jumping into anything to check it out. But not this time. As the guys drank there beer and my girlfriend and I stayed in the van, it was apparent they ment to freak us out. They dared us to cross the metal pillars. Anyone that has been there knows what Im talking about. On that note, we agreed. My girlfriend and I held hands, said a prayer and took three steps in past ( the gates to hell ) which was as simple as walking past the two pillars. How hard could that be ? Wrong. the air turned very misty, all sound was gone. We didnt hear a thing. At the same time without saying a word we turned to see the guys, they were yelling we could tell but we couldnt hear a word they were saying, we than heard noises from the grave sites to our left, at that point we both took off to run out, and like the movies, our feet wiped out and we hit the mud and beings as scared as we were and so close to the pillars we didnt even bother trying to stand we crawled back past the pillars. The moment we passed back, there was sound to the air and we heard the guys. We got up and ran to the van and insisted leaving ASAP.We couldnt at the time tell them what we felt, but it was clear they didnt have anything to do with it. I have never felt such evil before not do I ever want to. I grew up with ghosts in out home but not like that. There have been many people that traveled to that place, it was the ( High=School ) thing to do. Some people felt what we did, some just had a good time and didnt see or feel anything. But the fact is, its a very evil place. From the minute you leave the main road to go up the gravel, its not a good place. I never went back, but heard they have cleaned it up alot, repaired it, ( its not the same ) there were stories they had many spirit guides try to put the souls to rest. There were cars that were said to have been chased out of there by devil worshipers and crashed on the hillside out, the cars were there. The story is you could still hear them screaming if you listened. That I didnt sit around to hear. But they were said to have taken the cars out years ago. ?? Not going back to find out!

I have lived almost in Maltby for 15 years and have heard OF Maltby Cemetary, but have only seen the Bear Creek cemetary on Highway 9. Would like to know this. Thanks
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
This much let me avow---
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream:
Yet if hope has flown away In a night,
Or in a day, In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

So I have had plenty of expericance with the supernautral. My bother alwys goes up there and quit a few of my friends, so tonight August 17, 2009 my two buddies and I went up there. We got there parked and then started our hike i told them i had a bad feeling and and then they my one friend was worried about his car so we turned around got in and started to drive further up. We drove up past the house which is goreaous and for lease. It was kinda wierd though becasue as soon as we started to drive by the woods i started to get sharp pains in my temple and head then they turned into be migranes and the house was waht i pretty much had expected. We stopped and got a flyer and this big white fluffy dog just sat there and watched us it was wierd we drove off parked our car and started out hike agian. I was feeling uneasy and my hands instantly became clamy then I still wasnt settled and I felt like i was being watched or followed I ended up starting to get rely hot and like breaking out inot a cold sweat. I swear we were close but I jsut started to freak out I was staring to cry and I was ready to have a panick attack. THey tried to get me to keep goint but for some reason it was like I couldnt. Which was a good thing. I sitll had my headache on the way back we all went faster and everthing thing felt a little more settled. It jsut wasnt right there is somethign worng with taht palce.

And yes there rely is the steps to hell. That concrete slap ya all see its because the police went up there and cemented it all down so no one would ever beable to walk down it again. Some people say it was all the dissaperances that people would walk down there adn dissapear or that they would walk down there and theri freinds would see there spirits leave and they went crzy or that it was just partying.

Well, I guess after reading your posts & seeing only a couple of people of people that seemed to actually have expereinces at Malty & others asking for additional information, I'll finally share what happened to me there around 1980.

I worked for the Northshore Citizen newspaper in Bothell around the time that I was a senior in high school. We had a lot of ads to insert into the newspaper that night, so I didn't get done with work until like 2:30 in the morning. Myself and another kid both lived near Woodinville, & I mentioned that by the time we each got home & got to bed it'd probably be like 3:30 in the morning. So, why not find something to do & stay up all night? There was no Denny's in Woodinville back then, only Good Time Charlie's & we were too young to get in there. So we decided to drive his Mom's newly restored VW bug out to Maltby Graveyard. Along the way we were talking about checking out the "13 Steps" we had heard about, and other macho tough high-school dude stuff that we'd do when we got there.

We did get there and started up the dirt road in the VW. At that time there was no barrier across the road and you could drive right up. The night that we were there, there was graffiti on the guard rails, some of with "666" and Satanic symbols along with a couple of old cars that had run off the road & into the woods. We got to the top and the headlights lit up the grave markers. There were no lights up there & with all the trees it made it very dark. Well, all the macho crap stopped right then. We both jus sat in the car, motor and headlights on, not saying anything and amazed at how eerie & spooky this place really was. Finally one of us mentioned getting out, so we shut the motor off and got out of the car with the headlights still on. Neither of us got farther away than 10 feet from the car, but we were starting to feel a little more comfortable.

After being out of the car for a couple of minutes two lights came on from across the graveyard shining in our direction. At first I thought they were strong flood type flashlights and that we were going to be busted. Then the lights started moving...bouncing up and down. I shouted out "hey that car is driving across the BAD_WORD graves!!!" We both bolted to the inside of the car and he tried to start it. The car wouldln't start and I figured he had panicked & flooded it. As my head bolted back and forth from watching the lights bounce in unison toward us and watching his foot on the pedal I yelled for him to hold the pedal to the floor & start it. He yelled back at me to quit yelling at him. Finally I screamed at him, "hold the BAD_WORD pedal to the floor or we're done!" He pushed it down & finally got the car started. He floored it and spun the car around toward the entrance/exit, and I turned around to see where the "car" was behind us. As we turned a corner and started down the dirt road I turned around and didn't see any lights. I looked forward and said, "whatever you do, don't wreck", at which he invited me to shut the hell up. I turned back around to my absolute horror, and I mean that literally, the two headlights were almost on our rear bumper. I yelled for him to floor it. It is amazing that at that speed, we were able to stay on that dirt road and not wind up like one of the other cars that had run off the road and perhaps into a tree. The headlights then fell back 20 or 30 feet, and then again were right up on our bumper. I can tell you, being as honest as I can possibly be, that I've been in some scary situstions in my life, but I have NEVER been as outright frightened in my entire life as I was at that moment.

With the headlights pulling close and then laying back a couple of times we finally made it to the paved road. The guy driving didn't even look or slow down. He hit the road at probably 50 mph and just kept going. I turned around again and I told him that the lights were gone. He responded with, "they could still be back there", to which I agreed. We made it to Snohomish-Woodinville Rd. where there were a few streetlights and I informed him that no one was following us as we headed toward Woodinville. He was still driving around 50mph and it had just rained some. Back then there was a very sharp hairpin on that road, which I had warned him about 3 times. Without listening he tried to take the corner & we shot off the road and dropped about 15 feet into a cow pasture. We tore through 3 barbed wire fences, and I had a wood fence post that came through the windshield shortly after I had ducked. The VW finally came to rest near a house in which all the lights went on and a call went out to the police. I really would like to know who that was that came tearing through the middle of the BAD_WORD graveyard after us that night. I also wonder what ever happened to that other kid I went up there with that night.

Alright, I've been trying relentlessly to find this place with no luck. I get to what seems to be the dirt pullout everyone talks about off of paradise lake road and just past the conservation area trailhead accross from a strip of houses. I hike striaght up the steep hill and end up on one of the conservation area trails. What am I doing worong? Can someone also tell me the street name that goes to the house? Everywhere says its on paradise valley road which seems to be non existent. I'd really like to check this place out so any help you guys have is greatly appreciated.

Here's a site showing the GPS coordinates for the cemetery and the names on the existing headstones:

Maltby Cemetery

Please note that it is on private property and not open to the public.

As for the Order of Pendo, it was a fraternal organization established in 1894 and was much like the Elks or the Masonic Lodge:
