I had major problems with my computer and spyware/malware/virii. I would highly recommend a site called www.spywareinfo.com. They helped me. You will need to open an account. Once you do so, read the thread for new people, then go to a thread called “Malware Removal”. Just type out exactly what is going on, and what steps you have taken. Within a few days, somebody will assist you, by walking you through step by step what to do. There are certain programs you will have to run, Spybot, AdAware, Hijack This, etc, but once again, they will walk you through step by step what to do as well as giving you the websites where you can find all of the necessary programs. Every program they ask you to run is free. One other thing to try is go to www.trendmicro.com and run their free online virus scan. I have heard that some programs will remove virii that others don’t. Good luck.

Gah, suonds like they tried to erpair the OS install, and fubared a few drivers and device settings.... wonderful..... I was never a believer in just trying to patch a corrupted OS. If it got that hosed, I saved data, formatted and reinstalled. It just saved headaches. and I find something incredibly fulfilling by installing OS's from scratch LOL! I a sicko.
