If you're begining to feel that way, check out caverat's posts on evps. Are you using any kind of trigger objects? And are you just recording while you are there, or do you leave the recorder un-attended for a bit?

I had used a couple but nothing. I guess they would rather just be seen. My apartment has been more active than here lately.

Residual machines...hmmmm. You have mentioned you know the purpose of some of the rooms they are using. Do you have an idea of most of the old lay out?

I know that we are in the old O.R.s. The third floor was the phyc ward. There is still padding on a couple of the doors. A few people have said that they came here to have operations. One person even said they stayed in a room on the fifth floor.

A woman at work came looking for me to tell me about a bathroom on the first floor of the building. She told me that she was in one of the two stalls and the door next to hers started to move back and forth. She bent over and seen that no one was in that stall but the door continued to move rapidly back and forth. When she exited the stall the door stopped. Another woman had the same door slam shut with forth when no one else was in the bathroom. The next thing she told me was about leaving her kettle on the sink. She has done this many times over the years and never had it fall but this one time it fell into the sink. Now my husband and I thought the sink may have been wet and the vibration of the elevator made it fall in. On the other hand it could be paranormal. This woman told me that there are a lot of stories about this washroom. I have used this washroom a couple of times and felt like someone was there. Funny thing is when I was asking which washroom and told her the stall this happened in I was right on when she told me which one.

That's fascinating, WW. Man, I hope you can experience that swinging door. A quick EVP session may be in order.

An Air Force personal told me one encounter he had a few years ago. When working late he would use the sofa in his office for bed instead of driving home. The door to his office didn't close properly so he used a scuba tank to keep it closed. On this one evening he decided to stay and sleep on the sofa. This time he didn't bother with the tank for the door. During his sleep he began to feel very cold. He then heard a woman's voice, in French, telling him that he works too hard. Directly after he felt a warmth come over him and he heard a scraping sound. Waking up later he seen that he was covered with his jacket that had been on the opposite side of the room. Also the tank was in front of the door. Believing that his co worker had placed the jacket on him and moved the tank he went out to the outer office to say thank you. On one was there. He thought this was strange then looked at his watch. It was 3:30am. He made his way up stair to the guard on duty and asked who else was in the building. The guard told him no one but them.
His office at that time was on the ground floor.

Another time he had a fellow personal officer visiting the building. He offer one of the bedrooms on the 7th floor for him to stay in. One evening while retiring to the room before bed he watched some television. Getting tired he went to bed and turned the television off. Once in bed the tv came on. He got up and turned it off again, thinking it was just the tv acting up. Back in bed the tv went on again. This time he unplugged it. When he woke up the tv was on but unplugged. I have never liked that floor from the time I worked on the 6th. There were unsettling things that did happen on the 7th floor when it was a hospital. This gentleman said he had a few things he could tell us but didn't have time today due to a meeting. I look forward to meeting up with him again, hopefully tomorrow.

Those are amazing stories, WW. I don't necessarily trust sleeping or in between sleep and awakening experiences, but that first story has great back-up to his sleeping encounter.

Over time I have noted that hospitals in general, closed, abandoned even ones that are open and functioning, seem to get more than their share of what  might be defined as "paranormal activity". " Hospitals created to deal with a specific patient population, "psychiatric hospitals", small private one or large state ones seems to have lots of "paranormal activity " around them. Been there for years and have seen some real "weird stuff" that defies explanation, well scientific ones, anyway.

Just like with any other location that has had a great deal of death or emotion or whatever kind of human turmoil, it just seems to be common sense that there would be a high level of activity.  I have seen the question posed as to why cemeteries would be haunted, the point being that it didn't make sense that spirits would want to visit their deceased bodies, but cemeteries appear to be highly haunted or active.  The same with battlefields, which is in my field of interest, historically and paranormally.

Hello all! A lot of new people in our building now. A couple have heard the foot steps at night. Others are very interested in knowing the stories and where they can see a ghost. Some don't want to know.Nothing much lately.
