Sorry I haven't responded for awhile, everyone. I'm a college student and the time needed to be used for class work.

I appreciate what everyone has said. And I want to say first and foremost that I understand that spirits don't perform. This one is incredibly inconsistent about when it makes it's presence known. I have been thinking about maybe using a pendulum to try to communicate the next time I talk to it (whether or not it communicates back). I do not have a camcorder, but in reality I only was using the tape recorder to catch anything I might have missed. For me it's more the curiousity of who this is and why they're sticking around, you know? So I'm thinking maybe if I keep it more personal it might be more comfortable too (if that makes sense).

I don't think rapping would really work in our house. We've actually been having a problem with mice in our walls that have been keeping me up at night (I'm TERRIFIED of mice). I'm terrified to go in the bathroom alone because I'm afraid one will break through somehow. Kind of ironic, I'm not afraid of the ghost but I'm completely scared when it comes to the mice :-P Which brings up another interesting thing I've noticed. Whenever I feel the spirit I don't hear the mice. When the spirit isn't present the mice go crazy inside the wall.

When I give this another shot I'll let you guys know how it goes. If I can get the house to myself sometime in the "Halloween" time frame I'll try it then.

So sorry to bombard you, I understand you are a student and incredibly busy. Just wanted to suggest one more thing. You indicated that you wanted to know WHO it was and WHY they were there. I'm thinking a Ouija Board or Talking Spirit Board might be able to give you the answers you seek. Good Luck!

I appreciate the tip, but I'm not very comfortable with using a Ouija board alone. In a group it feels a little more secure to me. However, none of my friends here on campus (or surrounding it) believe in spirits and/or are willing to try to contact them.

Also, you aren't bombarding I really appreciate the helpfulness of everyone here. It's hard to find support for these kinds of things on campus or anywhere else for that matter!

At all costs stay away from the ouiji board they open doorways and bad things can come through. Best bet is to get a voice recorder and tape yourself asking questions, wait say a min or two and ask another question. It's the safest way. Just don't invite anything in. Ask questions like is anyone here with me just don't invite.

Hi There Guys and Girls!

I too have heard that using these boards invite spirits in and I am confused. If we can ask a spirit who they are, etc. and maybe tape their response, why is it different if we ask it to spell it out on a board? I do not do anything "magical" when using a board, nor do I invite any and all spirits when using one. I ask a specific question of a specific spirit. To my knowledge these boards do not possess a portal. I figured it was just an easier way at communication.
Please note I am not saying that they do not come through. I just want to know if this a tale that has been told and passed along without any real "proof"? What's the difference between using our ears to hear what they say or using the board? Some say "well any spirit can answer you on the board" But isn't that true when listening for a response?
I guess my question is...How do they "come in through the board when it is an object like any other". It is not magical and most aren't even concercrated.
Again I am not disagreeing with you, I just want to know the mechanics of it.

Natasha, I have used a board several times and nothing terrible has ever happened to me, nor to the people who were using it with me. There are people who would disagree with me and I respect their opinions.

However, I do believe that you cannot really believe the information you might get from it simply because the spirits that are attracted to the board play are ones I call "jokester" spirits. They are not the ones you ask to come in.

IMO I do not think a portal is opened.

I'm a very logical and no nonsense kind of person but I have had a bad experience with a spirit board. It was many years ago but there were three of us playing on the spirit board, it was moving all over the place and I really thought one of the other girls were moving it when suddenly I got an electric shock threw my fingers, it was so bad, they swelled up nearly twice their size. Scared me!

I've used a ouji numerous times with only one really bad experience but I haven't used one since. Something came through that ...idk, I don't believe in demons but whatever it was was no human

I always recommend picking up a copy of Jeff Belanger's Communicating With The Dead for tips on getting in touch with those on the other side. I learned quite a few things from it, especially the correct way to use a talking board.

So how do you explain the shock I felt and the swollen fingers?? We were using a glass.

Spirits can do that to you as they are very good with electricity.
