I've been visiting the GV site and forum for a couple of years now, but today something weird is happening. Every time I open a page or posting, Avast anti-virus warns me that a trojan horse is trying to download. It identifies the file name as JS:ScriptIP-inf.

Is this just a false positive, or potentially something to be concerned about?

After doing some google searches, I found that a lot of blogs on Wordpress were "hacked" a few months back, resulting in the same trojan horse warning.

There are some indications that Avast is getting false positives from some websites for this particular trojan, but never assume it's not a valid indication of malware.

Give this program a try and see if you still get any "hits." It's called Trojan Remover, and it's specifically designed to detect malware of this type. You can download a 30 day free trial here:

I just updated my Avast and it now gives me a pop-up saying the malware is blocked instead of not allowing me to even come on the site. It was previously telling me to abort the connection altogether. I update it manually because the automatics wreak havoc when you're using a program that uses a lot of resources. I update the virus database every few days, but it's been awhile since I updated the whole thing (VPS updates).

There is some talk on the Avast forum about false positives for this type of trojan on some major trusted sites. So, who knows? I've gotten viruses from major trusted sites before though so like Earth said, I wouldn't just ignore it.
