But, lately it has been getting on my nerves. Every story follows the exact same formula, and ALWAYS ends in the 'visitor' being a demon, blah blah blah... The claims are some of the most extraordinary paranormal experiences.
The worst part is that they often claim paranormal researchers came to help the families and that they captured videos, photos, and EVPs, yet they show absolutely none of these. Instead they show recreated photos, etc...
It's gotten to be about 50/50 where I end up turning off the show and deleting it just a few minutes into it.
Have others seen this show and if so, what are your thoughts of it?

I have added several paranormal shows to my DVR and "A Haunting" is one of them. It appears to be an older show. At first I kinda liked this show. It re-enacts the events using actors while also interviewing the real people involved.

That is true, however that's how the show was designed, to show negative hauntings, and it also helps viewers know there is help out there and possibly where to turn. Some, like A Haunting in Georgia is not Demonic, Sallie House, etc but many are demonic. The show has been canceled so everything we are watching are reruns, and I am hoping another network picks it up, because its awesome. They do show actual photos and an any EVP you do hear is authentic. Also a few of the demonologists play themselves, and re-enact such as A Haunting in CT with John Zaffis. The best thing about this series is, these are actual true accounts, and validated by professionals, priests, and witnesses. CE,

I still like the show, but it has become hit or miss for me. I like the format. Ghostly encounters is somewhat similar and I like that show, too.
But yeah, they are all reruns now, it would be kind of neat to see it brought back and updated. Maybe some better re-enactors and writers. Some of the stories seem pretty recent, I'll have to check what years it ran.

LOL My demonologist has a few shows on there, so thats how I know they are real true life accounts. Only one or two people have chosen to play themselves, but for the most part they are just actors that love playing that kind of scenario. Things have happened on the set, in the homes during re-enacting, so I can see why people wouldnt want to play themselves or relive their experience. There are several shows that have a part#2, but no other network has picked it up yet..I like ghost adventures too on Friday night on Travel Channel? They are pretty gutsy, and Ive seen some pretty scary stuff on there during lockdown. I dont like TAPS anymore or GHI, they are too fake imo..So I stick with the ones I know and trust. Ghostly Encounters is very good, but I wish we could see more evidence, but we have to take their word for it, but its fun to watch..It would be GREAT if Discovery would bring the show back so we could see the new ones, so we wait I guess..Thanks..CE

I don't watch TAPs or GHI anymore simply because they got boring. I do know that they do take some poetic license but as an investigator I find that their shows are most true to what my group does, they are very honest about rarely finding any evidence and are the most truthful and realistic of all the shows.

Old A Haunting Thread
More opinions on this show
Thanks Willow! Apparently I didn't dig far enough when I went looking to see if it had been discussed already.

We have alot of old threads buried way back so its a common problem. My opinion on this show is pretty much the same tho my youngest neice loves it and owns the whole series on DVD.

I'm fairly certain it is Discovery, but I may be wrong. I'm sure it's on one of the educational, but very interesting channels. What network or Channel name is this programme being shown? I want to check it out also.

He basically said the EMF were the explanation for everything that is happening to the girl. Which didn't make sense because how was the girl able to point out the dead man in an old pic?
Sure EMF can cause some of the things but not that one. Maybe a lucky guess, but she had 5+ photos to choose from and all photos had more than 1 person in the pic.
The only thing is, they now have a bunch of reruns.
