I am new to the ghost village forum, and have recently become interested in the paranormal. I have been using a ouija board, but nothing out of the ordinary has occurred. Am I doing it in the wrong place? Tips and info would be greatly appreciated as well as any personal accounts.
Thanks!

There are other ways of making "contact" that will let you be in control , and are a lot safer.

First a bit of an introduction. My name's Lokela, though I go by the Aloha Spirit. I'm highly spiritual and religious. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so I view the paranormal through that paradigm. I don't mean to get preachy, but don't hesitate to let me know if it gets out of hand.
I view Ouija as a portal. When you use one, you are knocking on a door without any way to know who (or what) will answer. You are inviting an unknown entity. These entities may be good or evil, most likely a mixture of the two. there is nothing stopping them from lying or impersonating another. Once invited in, they can be extremely dificult to forcibly expel.
People who are in favor of the Ouija will advise you to protect yourself according to your faith. What that exactly means differs from person to person. Some make a circle of salt to form a barrier. Others burn sage or incense. Some suggest being in the presence of an icon or saying a prayer.
If you are Christian, I strongly urge you to consider what you are doing. Will your prayer for protection seem hypocritical? "Lord, protect me from the possibly bad things I'm about to invite."
I didn't lose my mind - I have it backed up on a disk ... somewhere

Santeria is considered a dark and dangerous faith by many.. and even people who practice Santeria like myself refuse to use the ouija. As a matter of fact bringing one near us is hazardous to your health(cause most santeros will make you poop teeth for weeks for that)
Take that as my advice.
