Back in '04 my wife and I went to Gettysburg. We had a wonderful time there, and many strange things happened, but this is about something that occured after we returned home.
The very night of our return we were relaxing and watching TV. I glanced toward the front door and out on the porch I see a figure go by. awhile later I see it again. For several days....at least a week I think, though it's hard to recall since it was 2 years age, I saw this figure. I had the distinct impression that it was a male spirit, and it always looked as if it had a rifle or musket on his shoulder. One afternoon I was dozing on the couch after work when I heard a whispering in my ear. I couldn't make much of it out but I did hear my name. After that the Man standing Gaurd on the porch was gone.
It's my personal belief that a Union soldier, for whatever reason (perhaps he was from Ohio) followed us home, and decided to keep a watch on the house. That's the gut impression I got, and I always trust my gut. Wether he moved on to the light or returned to his post at Gettysburg, I do not know.

~What an experience!! Did your wife also see this figure? I get the impression he was there to do the duty he knew how to do, but ended up going back to where he was originally. For a moment, I was thinking that he was there to watch over you & your wife. Your little girl hadn't been born yet, right? Maybe he was there as a "guardian" of sorts. I loved this story, Duke!!! Very chilling and at the same time, comforting.

My wife didn't experienc this one. And Yeah it was before my daughter was born. I was not the least bit threatened by it. I actually felt the he was there looking out for us. I was kinda of down when he left, but I hope he crossed over.
