Hey I've been trying to find Marysville Stanwood road (now known as Marysville-Pilchuck road) and investigate the truth to all the claims of it being haunted, but last time I went looking for i i found a short residential road which ended at a "T"... I've e-mailed the washington state ghost society to get directions, but no help.... anyone been there? check out the story:
Marysville

Marysville-Pilchuck Road: This road is many miles long, and ends up at a dead end. There is a hill to drive up at the beginning. Motorists have seen someone running next to their vehicles, keeping pace while looking in their windows as they drive 35 to 40 mph up the steep hill. Indians have also been seen standing on the side of the road, but when the motorists look in the rearview mirror after they have passed, no one is seen. This road is on the Tulalip Indian reservation. Some say they have seen people sitting in their backseat in the rearview mirror, and turn to look but no one is there.
(Taken from washington State ghost society website: http://www.washingto...ostsociety.org)

any help on where this mystery road is would be appreciated... thanks

I researched most of the haunted washington hauntings, and used to be the wsgs's primary investigator, as well as their webmaster, you won't get much info from them, they have now, little to no experience since we all left and formed Evergreen Paranormal.
The road you are looking for, is Marine View drive. It starts out in Marysville, and is the main Tulalip reservation road that goes along the bay northward into Stanwood. The area you are looking for crosses Stanwood hiway, and heads north a few miles.

Hello i am new to this site, but am definately intruiged by the amount of people from washington, fabulous! I have a long time history with the paranormal, and have not developed any skills besides sensitivity, i feel that developing skills as a medium without guidance could be very dangerous. Anyways on to the topic at hand. My father used to live off of the road you described, known to locals as "firetrail". The portion of marine view drive that has developed a reputation can be located by following 116th street exit just north of marysville, take a right at donnas truck stop and follow the road that is just beside the freeway, you will be headed northbound at this point. When you reach the light you can take a left and follow this road. You are now on marine view drive, aka firetrail. Legend has it that this road gets its name because when fires broke out in the backwoods this trail led back there where many lives were supposedly lost. Another story about why the trail is haunted is because the indians were forced out of theyre land and this was the trail to the tribal land. Neither of these claims are substantiated, however i do have my own experiances to share.

First off i will not drive up this road alone, unless im going to a friends house that is only half way up the trail. Any form of driving all the way around marine view drive is done with a friend, because it is definately a beautiful drive. One story that i do know is true, is about halfway through the drive, which is approximately 15 miles if i do recall and will end you up on 4th street in marysville, there was a crash where a friend of my grandmothers was burned to death. The true story is as follows, the man was driving drunk in his VW van this would be in the late seventies with his wife, the man lost control of his car in the rain and crashed, the wife is still alive i do believe and the husband was lost in the ensuing fire. I share this only to prove one thing, there is definately a spiritual presance on certain parts of this route that my sensitivity can feel. If anyone has any questions i may answer i am very familiar with this area of marysville, as my father lived off of firetrail, and my best friend did as well where i stayed so often it was a second home. I will say if i were to sense it was any type of presance it would be native, indian in nature, that is just my feeling. Feel free to message me, my email is anthonybastien@gmail.com Thanks again -the so called antonyo

I live at the top of Firetrail, where things are a bit mellow, but too quiet. Just when you think things are nice and peaceful, weird things seem to stick out. I've lived up here for about 8 years now. Since my parents' recent separation, I've noticed an awful lot of things opening up to me. I am a local Tulalip tribal member, one of Snohomish influence. I'd be more than happy to share my experiences, that do relate to many of the claims out here. Without hesitation, I'll give you an idea of what I DO know about this hill.

When you drive up Firetrail, coming from 140th St NW, you'll notice the ride is extremely different than coming from the other side. Why? I'm still unsure, but I'll keep going. As you top the hill, you'll pass my route, 12th St, keep heading over the hill. You'd follow until you came to the split that separates the roads: Left takes you on with 140th, and to follow straight turns into Kayak point road. If you are to follow 140th, you'll be taken to a shortened path to Marine View drive. You will come to a lake, Cummings Lake as it's referred to. In the 80s, they called it "Dead Man's pond" due to a myth, that has yet to surface true or false, about a man dying in the pond. There are a few versions, but the Pond/Lake is quite eerie. After you pass the lake, you'll notice a VERY steep hill to Marine View drive, this is where things get interesting. Going down the hill, you're apt to see car lights coming from either direction in the dark. However, coming up the hill you're more likely to see lights that seem to cross the street. Now, this is where my encounter left me breathless. I went to work this way, both there and back. Upon coming home, it was in the darker hours. I was coming up the 140th St off of Marine View, headed toward the pond. The thing is, I left myself vulnerable listening to some music, spacing out. I immediately snapped out of the spacey moment when my eyes saw what seemed to be lanterns crossing the street. I slammed on my brakes after about 15-20 yards over the hill. Following the light, my eyes either did an amazing job of playing a trick on me, or I saw what seemed to be silhouettes following this light, almost as an escort.

Days later, I talked to some of the local "Elders" and some of them told me tweaked versions of the same story. Apparently, at one time, there was a man who would walk the children from the route they seem to follow, to a beach known as Kayak Point. Now there are many other myths and ghosts claimed to follow Marine View drive/Pioneer Hwy, but this is all I can provide from personal experience.

I have friends who have land out on fire trail. I used to stunt motorcycles out there as well. I have spent many nights camping out up there and running around the woods. Never once have I experienced anything. BUT with these new directions a few of you have put out there, I will be driving out there more often for a quick little drive. THANK YOU!!!

 Wow! it's good to see many fellow Washingtonians on the GV forum! I've read some of mizzmo's post's. from what I've read of her posts, she's very knowledgable. I'm not familiar with the location that you speak of, but I like to read up on all possible haunted locations in Washington State. I live in Lacey and my wife and I are looking into starting a group. If any of you ever venture down this way, send me an email at venomisme@hotmail.com.

We bought a site at Port Susan and I have been intrigued by this road since the first time we drove it. I haven't seen anything, but its a feeling I get every single time we drive. A feeling of both sadness for so many who have died along this road, as well as sadness for the history behind it. The unjust actions against the Tulalip back in the day, etc. One name stands out at me every single time we go there....George Comenote Jr. Does anyone know anything about him? How he died? And then there's a sign where it seems an entire family died in one spot, 5 or 6 names. I'm also curious about the Big Shot Cyrus James overpass....how did they get that name? I do believe spirits are on that road. There's no way that they can not be there....I don't consider myself psychic, but the feeling I have every time I'm there, although not unpleasant? Is very powerful.
