Is this evidence of haunting at a location frequently cited by "ghosthunters" as haunted??

Well it's interesting. If you take the photographer's word, then it is a great shot, but who knows if this person ison the level.

The "Ghost" is dressed in grey. Devil's Den was held by the Confederates. And all the encounters I've heard about at that spot where with Confederate ghosts. So if it's a fake at least the person knows a bit of the history.

And in the close up the soldeir seems very small, almost child size. The hat does not look too much like a Civil War kepi either. Looks more like Ralph Cramden's Bus driver hat. JMO. Could just be distorted. Heck it could just be a member of that group off to the right, who's just straggling.

It does look pretty cool and interesting but I think I have to agree with Duke...mind you, I am not expert in this field.

I have sat in the woods while deer hunting before...watching this one spot because I know there is a deer there and I am waiting for it to move. After a very long time, I came to realize that it was an optical illusion playing tricks on me because I was looking for deer and the part of a downed tree and shadows made it look like a deer.

That is the case here...in fact, it looks more like a midieval knight in ring mail grasping a spear about mid section with the butt end of it on the ground and the point sticking up. But then again, he is wearing a nazi type WWII helmet with the spike on the top of it. I think that if a hundred people look at this photo they may see 70 different things...this is an optical illusion just like the deer I thought I was hunting.

I think your right there KRC. I don't know if I agree with optical illusion part, but it is certainly possible. Devils den certainly has something going on. I visited it in the daytime and I could feel it. But this photo is questionable.

Has anyone had an expeirience at Devil's Den that they can share?

That really does look like a soldier. I would be scared if that was in my picture

It is hard to speculate on the validity of the photo at this point, but if it is real, it is remarkable.

If you look closely, you can see that the plant in the foreground is what is making up most of the "soldier's" face. Definitely an optical illusion, albeit a cool one!

I don't see the plant or the knight but i do agree that others will see something different in that photo.

As for the hat, it sorta resembles the old uniform hat from West Point around the time of the Civil War (although my memory is foggy at best)

Its a civil war soldier wearing a deer outfit and a german helment with a west point hat on top. The clothes are from the mid 1970's studio51 era that was transported back to the time period using the time machine I have in my basement.

The more I look at the photo the less genuine it looks. I'm no expert though. It just doesn't look very ghostly. Here's a link for further reading about Devil's Den and the Feirce fighting that took place there.

I'm trying to remember if there is monument nearby that spot to cause that image. But It has been nearly 2 years since my visit.

i don't want to sound like i know it all but i didn't see any monument in that area. the closest one i saw ( we were there april8-11 this year) was a large rock with a plaque to the right of devil'den as you look up from the slaughter pen below. that would have been on the opposite side altogether. the area of devil's den and the slaughter pen right up to the triangle field , i feel is very charged with activity. several types of media have reported having technical difficulties while trying to film there. the picture looks pretty good to me but could it be something like matrixing?

KRC Guns is right....at first i thought it was a tree branch of some sort.....the close up change that,....if you compare the soldier to the group he disproportional.....he's way to small......its eitehr one hell of a photoshop, or a ghost hunter that decided to dress to the occasion and straggled behind.
