While on tour, members of the group The Mars Volta bought a ouija board at a Jerusalem curio shop. The band used the board as a game, part of its after-show wind-down ritual. Then, according to guitarist and songwriter Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, things got strange.

They really should not have used it like a game, I so wish that the mfg. would put a warning on this thing. You have to properly know how to use it. The directions that comes with the board don't clairfy how to protect yourself, your surroundings as well as keep evil entitys from coming through it. It acts as a doorway for any human or non human entitys to come through.

Hmmm, by the way the article reads, sounds like a bunch of hype for the new cd.....I'm basing my opinion on the last sentences in the article.....I could be wrong, but funny the wording they decided to use there.

I think it was a bit of both, I thought it was a bit silly to use the board without proper trained supervision.
As we all know these things can be dangerous. And I can imagine people that follow this band will think its cool to copy them and use the board too, which will probably help their CD sales perhaps

Oh and just think about all the fans of the band that are gonna read about it and go buy one and "play" with one!! Talk about an onslought of activity to come.
