Hi Guys,

 

 

The two biggest posting problems I have always run into here are:

 

1. The ability to edit your post lasts about 3 and a half seconds after posting.

 

I am the person spell check was designed for and grammar is optional most of the time for me.

 

If the edit feature stayed on permanently I would be able to catch and correct most of the egregious errors and wouldn't sound like such a Tard

 

 

2. When you try to post two posts, one after the other, in the same thread, you get one long post instead of two separate posts as intended.

 

This really drives me nuts as I sometimes have to wait a day to repost in that thread so I don't get a huge post consisting of several completely different thoughts.

 

It's also a pain when posts contain video urls. Since only two video urls are allowed per post you get two videos and a bunch of links under them that may or may not have anything to do with the original post.

 

Also makes me look like more of a Tard than I really am......

There are specific reasons for that settings which was implmented 5-6 years ago.

 

As for the first one: This was put in place to restrict trolls, who went on rampage, they post flamable statements, but later go and edit out before the moderators can take appropriate action. I am unsure if we will remove this.

 

As for second point: Again, there were member who kept on posting (some posts mere smileys, or one word comments) primarily aimed at increasing the post counts.

 

 

As for now, both those settings would remain unchanged.

Logan, at least you can post videos. I can't for some weird-arsed reason.

This is how I do it.....

 

 

Step 1:

 

Find video you want to post. Highlight full address, right click and copy....

 

 

 

 

Step 2:

 

 

Go to post window at GV. Click into post window so you get cursor. Right click and paste full address of video you want to post. I add a couple of blank lines before and after the address line to center the video in the post window....

 

 

 

 

Step3:

 

When you have added the video addresses you want to post, what text you want to add and the post is ready to publish just hit the black post button and your videos should appear in your post.

 

You just have to make sure you get the full address url.

Just tried over in Google Chrome, works fine for me there, but not in Internet Explorer. WTF? I'm using IE 99% of the time.

I find visuals help when explaining a procedure.

 

But maybe that's just me.

 

I once took a test to see what side of the brain (left or right) you use the most and what you rely on more, hearing or seeing.

 

I scored 50-50-50-50.

 

My site chief, who was a Brigadier General, had been a professor at eastern new mexico state university and had given the same test to thousands of incoming freshman never once saw that kind of score. He just shook his head and mumbled something about it explaining a lot of things......

Just tried over in Google Chrome, works fine for me there, but not in Internet Explorer. WTF? I'm using IE 99% of the time.

Internet Explorer is not even considered a web browzer, with so much of flaws and security holes and rendering issues. Moreover Microsoft themselves have abandoned it for good.

Lovely. I'll uninstall it when I get home and see if mom'll let me hijack the laptop to do some installing.

You cannot uninstall IE from Windows, it is built in, but you can definitely use alternate browzers like FireFox and Chrome.

shared the info with mom. And I'll definitely be installing chrome on the laptop when it cools off a little more and show her how to use it. I've gotten rid of the shortcuts I had up on the desktop for IE.

I've been having problems with Firefox since It upgraded. I can't use it to get into Google sites. It says firefox won't accept cookies. So I have to use IE, which I despise on general principle. Like I despise Apple.

I have no issues with either FireFox (my primary browser) nor Chrome.

I'm not having any problems with it, aside from one blog I visit popping up a tad odd when I just pulled it up in Chrome tonight. Cross checking with IE to see if it's the site itself or Chrome.

Looks like it was just a glitch. It came up fine in IE and when I refreshed in Chrome.
