On great fields something stays.....Spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision place of souls. And reverent men and women from afar, and generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! The shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into thier soles.-Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

Alone, me and no one else
This isn't what I seen
It isn't what I wanted
To be held lovingly
To be cared for
This is what I wanted
He shout at me and calls me horrid names
My heart sinks, I feel worthless
Is there anyone who will love me?
I walk on egg shells all night long
Cook, clean, tidy, wash
All this to be sure he is salm
All this so I can do what I want
I'm lazy and don't stand by him
I've always had his back and mine has been bare
I am ugly and no better than dirt
How much more can I take?

If I were the rain I'd make your garden lush with greens and flowers.
If I were the wind I'd gently move the leaves and cool you on a summer day.
If I were the sun I would shine brightest for you but not make it too hot.
If I were the snow I would float gently from the sky to land on your cheek.

Here I sit in depression.
Where is my life going?
I don't like this ride anymore.
I want a new avenue to travel.
But there is no light for my path.

A child of 4 shared with me a hug.
The innocences of trust gives insides a tug.
Look into her face what do I see.
The magic of life and what it can be.
Her words spoken soft in that cute way.
Made a sweet memory for me today.
All the wonders that will fill her heart.
In each step in her life let the child never part.
Have her hold that within her for ever more.
Remember that child she was at 4.

The heat rises as birds fly overhead
The moist air opens me,
to the air, the water, the gods.
The golden candle lights my words
as the golden fruit lights the path.

Separate lives, separate souls
Destined to be apart, until we grow old
You with your lover, me with mine
Always, forever, till the end of this time

Yet for the moments, that our lives intertwine
The sacredness lasts, bringing my life sunshine
Those special moments, bring joys untold
Sweet, aching memories onto which I hold
Little moments, I keep in my heart
That bring me hope and fend off the dark

I re-live those moments in the secret heart of me
Telling no one, forever silent, yet secretly happy
The days are long, and the nights are longer
Yet each hour that passes makes me stronger

Though itís hard and there are lessons to learn
Beings of self sufficiency, livings to earn
Families to care for, separate and apart
Know that you will always belong in my heart.

I love you now, as I did then
The guilt remains constant
For it should never have been
Yet that is just the human part of me
Regretting the thing, that perhaps, should not be

When joy should fill my heart, at what I have now
Part of me will still remember you, and that love will still grow
Constantly in my subconscious, thoughts I should push away
Of you and me, alone, as we were that day

And when the day comes,
that this earthly life ends
Things for us will begin again.
Iíll be able to take you by the hands
Walk with you through silver sands
Between the lights of heaven and earth
Until, to our new lessons, karma gives birth

For that is what we are, two halves of one whole
Meant for each other, forever aiming for our goals
You with your life, me with mine,
Always, forever, till the end of time

For though this life separates us,
Tis only the blink of an eye
For what you and I share will never end
Just simply, slowly begin again

Until then, I watch you from the shadows
As I go on with my life and you with yours
For this is our lesson, in this lifetime
But know, deep in your heart
That I love you, forever, till the end of time.

I wrote this a while back. Sheesh. It's LONG!

My daughter had to write a poem for school. I'm quite proud of her first attempt, and she even rhymes *teary* (old joke for those who are wondering, I have a hard time not rhyming my poems :) )

Almost every night, when I snuggle into bed
I hear noises, then I wonder, is it just inside my head?

I pull the covers up and hold them tight up to my neck
Could there be a monster, in my closet, what the heck?

Is he fun or friendly, or is he mean and scary?
Is he smooth or bald, or is he rough and hairy?

Is he very quiet, or does he like to roar?
Who knows what danger lurks, beyond the closet door.

As I lay there in the dark, I really start to think
Would colour could this monster be, purple, blue, or pink?

Does he have a spiky back, or horns upon his head?
Does he have razor teeth, or even eyes of red?

Is he going to come and get me?
Or is he there to just protect me?

I see a shadow and then some fur
And then I hear a gentle purr.

Then my closet door opens a crack,
Something walks out, Hey look! It's my cat!
