You guys just blow me away! :weeee: Such varying forms seen here but all so rich and provocative of emotion.

Erato: Do you happen to be a fan of E. E. Cummings? I sense something about him in your writings. Brilliant man, he was. My favorite writer.

Here's one I wrote not long ago:

Asters' Dance (Old Like Organdy)

I see you through the shadows of the eyes of God
Watching us like the frames of a deteriorated nitrate film
Winding loosely through the projector
Onto the wall, her face covers mine in likeness
As I inhale and exhale and you call me her name

You were lost in the darkness - your own dreams
Shadow my every move though I've never seen your face
I can't recall, I just can't recall those lazy mornings
By the bayou when you taught me to climb trees
Sweet youth, we were reckless and we made bets on
Which gardenia your slingshot would take from the trees
Beyond

I ran in my organdy dress studded with miniature velvet daisies
Through the rain down the muddy road as the blare of your
Car's horn wailed into the night - my tears were lost in the
Remembrance of you as I crawled onto the ancient hood and
Through the windshield to take your face into mine as you whispered
In Latin - a song - in a gravely voice still dignified as I
Took shards of glass from your eyes

We lost count along Route 66 the times we were free in our hearts
I can't recall, I just can't recall which gown I wore that night
To the dance, the beautiful ladies and men adorned like Clark Gable
Rich dusk fell into my eyes, the flowers capping my hair
As I recalled Montmartre and the times we walked through the fog
To the top of the hill and read Nin and sipped our wine and
Laughed and I sang to Paris lit with lights: "Wish Me a Rainbow"

I don't believe I've ever seen your eyes before and I don't recall
The night you were lost - watching me choose which heels to wear
To stand as tall as your heart - you were always tall to me
You look like, classic Irish - soft features and me so tiny, you said -

And, we laughed although we found no humor there

I look in the mirror and wonder - wonder what you look like
I've never seen your face before

We fell into the river and carved worlds into the river bed
They are still there, I am sure. Only my memory recalls
Only I recall - it was pearl grey organdy and blazing orange
Asters adorning my hair

SONG OF THE NIGHT

Posted Image

At night
The rain softly sings
Mystical beats of my heart.
Its delighted, humid face
Loves to smile, loves to play
With the waves of the wind
Its great arms canít hold it prisoner
Freely escapes through out its fingers.
In the darkens love shines a sad melody
Cries the agony of the lonely dove
Hidden among the stars
The flames of fire on the horizon,
Reflects a loving desire
Tide up with a moonís spring
Freshly digested on a dream
Naps peaceful behind the doors of eternity
Where the sun awaits a welcome kiss.
Stray melody cuddles a ancient passion
Blooming far away
Where peace opens its eyes
Blue, silky coated skies
Royalty stands again tall and strong
On the throne of silver and gold
From the riches of my life.
Wonders oh wonders of a lonely night
Embracing the new day to came
Dancing under the rain of happiness
Escapes a beat from my heart
In the dazzling watchful gaze
Of your love.

A Fresh Morning Aroma

A fresh perfume born in the air
Unfolds the atmosphereís silhouette
A thunder dressed with the fragrance of flowers
Anxiously, drinks from their nectar.
Faithfully a rainbow writes a promise
With each drop kisses the land,
Caressing its skin with the sweet sound of rain,
Electrifying protector of the body
Delighting my mind with the simple pleasure
Promised of life.
The majestic branches of the tree
Crown and glory to the forest
Had fallen to the ground
In its hidden intimacy, remains still
But the rain shelters its body with a loving gaze
Although moves away for a moment
Enjoys the strength of its trunk,
Now wet with the fresh flavour of rain.
Words are born in the garden of my heart
Like songs flourishing in the darkness of the night
Bathed with the morning dew
Kisses each thought that brings you to me.
And minutes turn into hours,
Hours turns into days
Filling my soul with the image
Kept in the dazzle of a kiss.
Beautiful dawn is your reflection to my heart
Where you breath under my skin
And decorate my life
With happy days.

LOST LOVE
By ROSE

Wave washed sand prints
Message in a bottle
Ache of 10,000,000...

No sign posts
No Guides

Shot in the Heart
Crawling through caverns of woe
Bitter darkness

Sorrow Caves
Canvas of Suffering...

*I wrote this when one of my foster children whom I loved very much was removed.*

My tears are gone
my heart is ripped
my love will always stay strong
the days seem lost
the nights seem long
and I donít know where to turn
my life was turned inside out
my smiles faded away
I hope that one day my light will shine again
that the suns warmth will glow on my face
and my heart will heal
and the smile will come back
to lift up my spirit and help me grow

That's a beautiful poem, I must off been really hard for you to let go of your child... but at least you had the oportunity share your life with a little one who needed it.
Do you keep in touch with the child?. Was just wondering...

Hugs and love :)

Your leaves spun patterns about the glass-lined streets
Reflecting moods not spoken so far of nor obliterated
Within your high ceilings, air smells softly of patchouli
Undercurrents of wants, desires, magnolia on my skin
Did the band not play that night? Did the band play?
Yes, they played while the flyboys held banners and
We embraced in the crowd

And you saw, through cloudy rooms and cloudy eyes,
The mural of me standing on a sepia-toned evening
In a grey dress, walking by with hands as far as near
To you - they seem to fall knowingly into the dusk as I
Let my words fly free through your trees and your sky
Only, it seems so far away, now - why does it seem so
As I imagine your embrace?

Your gaze swoops down on fragile wings to peer at me
And I believe that I must take flight, but yet desire the
Unknown patterns of your leaves falling and lifting
Veils between two worlds - you areÖhands that leaves
Lift and fall; I am the glass-lined streets of a memory
Too far away to recall, too near yet far, so far away
As your eyes alight, the crowd

You are the artist, creating unyielding sculptures in the
Center of a room as my eyes survey you, intently, waiting,
Perhaps something towards hopeful. I do not know nor expect
To know and recall what it is in your words that draws
Me nearer or how you can touch gently upon that which I hide
But, realization softly shifts around as the leaves lift and fall

Embrace and lift and fall
