Can you spot the difference?

Yeah I got this e-mail. It was half true Mars was going to pass its closest to the earth but some joker took the original text and cut a bit out. This made it read like Mars was going to appear as big as the moon to the naked eye.

Hats off to the perpetrator he nearly got me. It was only that I decided that surely Mars would gradually get bigger over a few nights, and not just sundenly appear like the moon on 1 night. Once I had looked into this further I found the real article which suprise, suprise mentioned high power telescopes etc etc.

Yes, I was completely caught with this one. Was very exited, and looking forward to see Mars so close. I was so disappointed when a friend pointed out that it was just a hoax (and I felt like such an IDIOT!!)

I also was excited about the Mars thing, but I found out it was a hoax before I shared it with anyone.

I heard about that Mars thing from my husband. He came home one night from work telling me to get the kids up at a certain time to see this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon! Oh, brother. Big as the moon. Yeah. OK. I told him that there would be no possiblity with that because of the gravitational pull, orbits, and blah, blah, blah. He totally fell for it. I told him that there were articles about 2 or 3 years ago that said Mars would have it's closest pass to earth in our lifetime and that was it. What a mook!

Did anyone ever get the bonzai kittens email a couple of years ago... I was outraged... Until my parents told me it was fake.
I cried and even signed the email petition... Sick joke, but I was the dumb kid...
