My latest, written two nights ago.

My life was spinning out of control
I could not find my way
My nights were filled with horror
My days had all turned gray

Striving to do the very best
I could not ignore a plead
And I sacrificed the man I was
To give help to those in need.

I came back home a broken man
My ego bruised and battered
I could not save them all you see
And now my heart and soul are shattered

I tried to hide the hurt away
And live life as before
But I could not forget the tiny faces
Of the children of the war

My thoughts and dreams they would invade
They’d visit me each night
Their screams and cries, and tiny tears
Would awake me with a fright.

And just when I thought I was alone
That nobody would understand
You lifted my chin, wiped my tears
And took me by the hand

You taught that it was okay
To let my emotions out
You gave me strength to carry on
And face my fears and doubts.

I would not be where I am today
Your strength has helped me mend
Because you are more than just my love
You are truly my best friend.

You know how biased I am when it comes to your writing but that is beyond beautiful Justa
Either write things worth reading,
Or do things worth the writing.

"The Storm"

The storm comes
pushing its way through
the serene blue sky
The tiny black fingers
crushing the calm
Wringing the crystal blue out of the sky
Fingerpainting it in tones of black and grey

The wind comes
gripping me
searching for the fear and panic in my soul
It envelops me with its fury
Burning, stinging, stifling

Everything is moving under its great bearish strength
Almost fearful of it
Tree limbs
crack and fall like fallen heroes

And it comes

blinding sheets of rain
sting the earth like liquid fire
It is an ocean of grey bitterness
The wind sings its hollow, mournful song
Bringing despair

The lighting comes
cracking like the devil's whip
The clouds have been threaded and woven by unseen hands
to make a tapestry to block out the sun's light
The thunder shakes the ground like a rag doll
in the jaws of some mad dog

And I fear

I try
to run
but
I
cannot

It holds me in the chasm
pinning me to the floor of fear
Holding
Crushing

I break from the darkness
I am blinded by the sudden light
Free
I triumph
The storm has gone
I am well

"Autumn"

Her hills may be alive with the sound of music
But my hills are alive with the sound of the wind
and the color of fire
One last desperate surge of life
before seeming death
But the reality is.....
mere catatonia
Seperating the colors are grey ghosts
rattling bones of the trees who have succumbed early

The warmth has returned
Mother Nature's parlor tricks
We know it as Indian Summer
Listen to her laughing behind our backs
She knows what waits in the wings

:weeee: thought I'd share this with you all- since it has a nice reference to the village that no-one else has a chance in hell of understanding. Written when I was rather the worse for wear at some time too early in the morning to be still awake.

Those moments (between consciousness and drunken slumber)

haunted lines of messages
transported on village grounds
through to beer soaked mead offerings
and flowering shrubberies that mean
nothing but little of the memories
they failed to contain when
in youth they laid down rules.

here I am, here I am

here I am, here I am

empty but for the void
(but you knew that - didn't
you?)

strawberry grace and gashed little blue
tits dashed
off
to you.

----------------------------------------
I think I should stop wrting poetry when drunk...

The point which I should first wish to understand is whether the pious or holy is beloved by the gods because it is holy, or holy because it is beloved of the gods.

Hi everyone. here is another poem i have written that i would like to share with you.

South America has the animals and the heat
The music makes you want to dance along with the beat
But not everywhere is so right
Children on the street being forced to fight
Children on their own, without their mum or dad
Growing up thinking the world is bad
Brother against brother father against son
In this terrible place who has really won?

Will the children ever be free
Will they ever have a family
Will this place ever find peace
Will the two ends ever meet
Will the fathers and sons ever see
That this is not the only way to be
So lets hope that the music keeps playing
And that one day, for them, the pain stops growing.
Philosophers have only interpreted the the world as they see it- but the point is to change it. Karl MarxSceptics and belieers always disagree, Always try and change what the other believesYou have your views and I have mineThere's nothing we can do it's a fact of lifeIt's what makes the world go round,But it stops proof from being found - Abi

I stayed up early the other morning and watched "The Crow" for the first time in years...and as I sat on the couch when it was rolling credits...I had this thing just randomly pop into my mind. I would really appreciate any input...be it good words or critiques on how I could improve it. I luv criticism...as strange as that may seem. lol.

I once looked down
From up above
To see the world below
And from where I was standing
I knew that I was meant for something more

But look at me now
Back and withered from the grave

Look how far I've fallen
From where I was so long ago
I left my wings behind me
And came crashing down (crashing down)
To a place where there's nothing
For me

Now I wander the earth
My footprints fading
Washed away in the pouring rain
As I look up to the sky
Looking for a gate-way back

But my vision is blurred
And the clouds have closed me out

Look how far I've fallen
From where I was so long ago
I left my wings behind me
And came crashing down (crashing down)
To a place whre there's nothing
For me

Revenge is my motive
Cold is my heart
In my mind a memory
Of what I once had

I'm broken in pieces
Scattered everywhere

My wings are above me
My heart in the past
My hands gripped in the now
On the throat of time

Look how far I've fallen
From where I was so long ago
I left my wings behind me
And came crashing down (crashing down)
To a place where there's nothing
For me (nothing at all)

A child sits and wonders...
How does that ant carry such a large crumb?
How does that cat jump form such a height and be fine?
How does that rose know when to open?
Why do mom's hugs make me feel happy?
Because God is there.

Inside a tear are memories.
Hidden for none to see.
The first is a memory of a kiss.
THe second is his touch.
The third is the day he left.
The fourth is the pain of loneliness.
Then comes a knock upon the door.
I open it wiping away the past.
Inside a tear are memories to be made.
The first this smile.
The second our embrace.
The third his words, "I love you."
The fourth never to be alone again.
Inside a tear he wipes away.

Touch me so I know I'm alive.
Care for me like you never have before.
Make love to me like it's the last time.
Then stay with me forever.
