I see that in one of the stories that the hotel was purchased. Do you know by whom it was purchased? I would be curious to see if they would allow a full scale professional investigation.

The construction of the Hot Lake Hotel near La Grande, Oregon, marks the first time that the energy from hot springs is used on a large scale.

It was purchased to become a hotel but then was shutdown do to lack of up keep and it also says because of the workers sick of the hauntings constantly, so they said they quit.

Well the old building from what i know is for sale for $300,000 dollars with the lake and the acres of land by a man that will soon be on this forum named Avery of Phy His true name remains a mystery. He also denies that the building is Haunted. Which is totataly said for the sale in my reason. This buildings evidence of hauntings and acounts of the likeness of each is mind blowing.

Example: Back when the building was a hotel the owners had a old piano on the third floor that continualy played. They were so sick of the piano being played that they took the piano away from the Ghost. After they did this they were having the third floor ravaged and also just banging and lound clangings and everything would be all thrown around up there so they returned the piano and peace was restored.

People have given acounts of hearing a piano in the old building without ever knowing about this old haunting.

Scary isnt it :)

Here is a crazy story
Hot_Lake_Hotel_Strange
Other

Well, for those who don't know Hot Lake was once a great vacation
spot. Now it is haunted by the ghosts of the past. One night
while I was driving past this hotel, I noticed the street lights
shining off of the windows. The hotel doesn't have any glass in
the panes. So I pulled over and looked at the building (I was
200yds from the entrance to the hotel) and I saw a bright light
coming from the third story. It was in the middle of of the third
story, where the piano room used to be. Anyway, I was being
screamed at by the passengers in my car, and I couldn't hear them.
All I could do was stare at that light. Later I found out everyone
was screaming at me and I just looked very pleasant and happy (they
said). Evidentally, they had seen the grass moving (there was no
wind) and dark shadows were moving towards the car. I didn't
believe them, until the next morning when I went out to the car.
It seems that on the passenger door there was evidence of someone
putting their hand on the car. It was so low to the ground that no
one else noticed it until I pointed it out to them. It looked like
someone put their hand on the car, and as the car passed, their
hand had swiped some dirt off the bottom. It was truly weird, and
very unexplainable.

I think it is cool. :)

The old building used to be a florishing town when the railroad ran through it they even had a gift shop with little nic nakes of the place.

It used to have a grand scale of tourism from its bath house. Today it is still labeled as a town but not in map. Crazy isnt it lol.

The Hot Lake Resort was listed on 1979-03-15 and is located in Union county. One of the many sites and buildings eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and is also a highly "HIGHLY" historicly valuable and also for its hauntings. It is more known for Hauntings but its history out does all of its hauntings. Its History is a captivating weedling journey.

I became interested long ago by a fetish for restoring the place. God then led me another way and i left the building not knowing for sure wether or not it is cursed.

I would love to go to the Hot lake Hotel/ Sanitorium and stay a night. It would fullfil a old desire.
