I'd like to hear what you think about what happens after the encounter.

I was raised a Catholic, but I always knew there was something more to our lives.
My experiences have confirmed with me what I have always felt to be true about the supernatural world.
I am more confident in understanding my investigations and my experiences.

For those of you who have had a ghost encounter, I'm curious how the experience has changed your perspective on life. Have you become more religious? Less? Are you more fearful? More confident? If you've had months or even years to look back on your experience, has it enriched your life?
I'd like to hear what you think about what happens after the encounter.

I had a strange experience when I was much younger. I cannot say whether this was a ghostly experience or not, only that I am still unable to explain it. At the time it was very frightening, and as I have gotten older I have been very interested in the paranormal as a result. I am afraid to say as I have looked more and more into the paranormal I have only become far more skeptical to almost the point of not believing in any of it any more. As a result I am far less fearful of anything that goes bump in the night and as for religious we'll just have to see when the times up.

Anyway, there haven't been any 'profound' affects on me that I can tell. My life has been enriched, I believe, because of these happenings. I have learned to develop a few abilities, and been able to help people not be afraid. I always have a hard time understanding how you could be afraid of these entities because in my experience, they aren't scary. Perhaps this is because my early encounters happened long before I saw any of Hollywood's versions of what hauntings are supposed to be like.

It was not until I was older that I began to have the 'Why' and 'How' questions when it came to ghosts, and it was also around that time that I went from semi-Christian ideals to Shamanistic ones. The whole family was going through the religious transition, but it made me feel more open about thinking about ghosts.
The most I have been effected by ghosts is when I make friends in life. I find there are people who you can talk to about the subject of ghosts and then there are others that when your door closes on it's own and you know what it did it, you have to turn to that friend and laugh about how it was the wind.
I overall feel enriched and privlidged to be able to associate myself with the spirit realm. It helps me have no fear what so ever of death, lets me know that my family is always near when they have to die, and that when I go I will b able to watch over those people I love as long as I need to. It has also helped me have a relationship with my grandmother who died when I was 2.
It is a little odd to tell people that you love your grandmother and know that she is happy with your choices up to now, even though she died 18 years ago lol But it is nice^_^

Though I have to admit, I'm a little more convinced that even they would rather have that meeting post poned to the latest date as possible

My experience with spirit on the physical plane has been, I think, a step in the right direction. I think that I was meant to experience spirit on the lower level before I can experience spirit on a higher level. This kind of makes sense to me. I am the sort of person that needs to be shown something 'right in my face' before I'll accept it. Most of my life I believe I have had spirit showing me things and I havent seen the wood for the trees. I think I have been shown the bottom so I can work my way up.
I think it was something I was meant to experience to change my life.
First of all, I am not afraid to die anymore.
I have discovered I am clairsentient and possibly more which I am working on. I am learning meditation and have seen my spirit guide , Joseph. I realise now that I feel him around.
I do believe in god but I am not really religious. I do now feel that I have a purpose in my life but am still not sure what that is. I feel confident that I will discover this soon. Its hard to explain but I feel the need to lead a better life and think of others instead of myself as much.
Its seems strange that ghost investigating would lead to this but it has for me. I still enjoy investigating but now I am seeing another side and experiencing it. This was something that I had only read about before.

I would have to say that the whole "ghost experiance" has completly changed my outlook on life. My religious beliefs have drastically changed, and I feel more confortable with what I believe now, versus what was(/is) forced on me. I like knowing that since I have been interested in the paranormal, I have definatly gotten smarter, in the paranormal field, as well as a better vocabulary and better typing skills. Being in this field and interacting with people like me has given me a chance to make new friends. Also, I feel much more confortable with living life, and no longer fear death. I no longer fear anything about spirits or the paranormal, except when they startle me, I guess.
Everything about the ghost experiance is positive here.
