A couple weeks a ago I was down Lodi, OH in The Log Cabin shop ( a store that caters to black powder shooters) and much to my surprise there is a box full of old Time-Life books for only $2 each. Amongst them were 4 books from the Mysteries of the Unknown series. I read these back in Junior high, about 100 years ago

They were a big part of my early interest in the supernatural, and I was excited as all heck to find them.
How many of you out there remember this series? Are your memories as fond as mine are? I'm really going to enjoy re-reading these books.

On great fields something stays.....Spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision place of souls. And reverent men and women from afar, and generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! The shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into thier soles.-Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain
