Hey guys, its me again, the ameture.

well, ive got something for you, if your ever in seneca missouri. its called hoffman's mansion, and there is some spooky stuff that happens there.

#1 BACKGROUND, let me give a little background. Hoffmans mansion was origionally created sometime in the late 1800, around 1580-1868, and served as a home for an immigrant family. After the deaths of the origional owners (nothing suspicious, from what i can tell) it was purchased by the hoffman family. The hoffmans lived there, with a caretaker in a small house to the side, for sometime, until tradegy struck (circa 1920's) and then, years later, was sold to a family from california (circa 1960) after serious restoration. the family stayed at the residence for about 6 years, until they moved away and never returned.

#2 WHAT HAPPENED THEN?so what was the tradegy? well, when the hoffmans owned the mansion, they ran a camp for kids in the summer. one summer the caretaker went insane, tortured kids to death, and then hung himself from a huge tree in the front of the cemetary. much later, the family moved out after experiancing several phenomenan like moving beds, objects flying off shelfes, so on and so forth. many years later, around 2001, a drug deal, on the property went bad, and a younger man, (no older than me, im 25) was shot to death and then burned in his van. all of this death and tradegy in such a relatively small place. its spooky to look at when driving by, let alone to get out and walk around in.

#3 WHAT HAPPENS NOW? Now, the place is full of negative energy, that is VERY obvious when you simply drive by it. when i went there, we drove there, parked in front of the gate, and stood outside and looked in. from outside you could see a statue of jesus christ, with its head, hands, and feet cut off and descrated lying on the ground. while i am sure that this is obvioulsy the work of vandals, that area seems to be a focal point of energy. When we were out there, we heard something moving. not something small, either, something big, moving fast, in circles around us while we were parked on the side of the road. Also, our team-lead, t-buck, took off for the truck after looking at the gates in, saying "its breathing on me" and that "it" is energy, which we think is daemonic. after t-buck got in the truck, we took off, but right as the driver was putting the vechile in drive, we heard screams. not just any screams, but screams that would chill your blood. they were so loud that it was like they were inside your head, and they felt as though they pierced your soul.  until the day i die i will not forget those screams, they sounded like thousands of voices wailing out in agony in a single second.

CONCLUSION After being there and feeling and hearing what i did, i would like to return, this time with equipment, (and with holy water and crufixes) and get access to the inside. as it is privately owned, and the grave is a family grave now, im trying to get ahold of the landowners to get permission for paranormal reaserch there. my southern baptist beliefes make me feel that if it is a daemon, or daemonic energy, then my faith in god will protect me, and if its just a malevelont spirit, it would be nice to send him twoard the light and give him peace. (or her if its applicable)  In all, i will return, with both science and religion as my tools, and hopefully can ease the great torment this place has obvioulsy undercome.

"Science without religion, is theory, religion without science, is myth" a friend of mine always uses this statement, and i am beginning to beleive in it. i think my return trip to hoffmans will either prove or disprove this statement either way.

I know who owns the property and i live very close only about 5 miles away from it i have been there many times and i mean inside the gate actually walked through the rubel of what is left of the old house

Hate to revisit a dead topic (No pun intended).

But.

I don't believe a Caretaker lives on the immediate property, I was actually out there just a few nights ago and the only things left are a tree stand, the old caretaker house (which is run down and abandoned) and of course the cementary. Some crazy stuff happened there too. When we looked at one of Hoffman headstones, we heard two loud bangs come from the abandoned single room building just behind us (Caretaker Shack maybe?).

There is a highway overpass nearby though, but that was ruled out considering the noise came from just yards away.

Not far from that is an old rusted bridge were the story is, if you leave candy, the spirits of deceased children who I'm guessing drowned in the creek will come get it. I left Orbitz gum sitting on the rail and honestly I didn't believe it. We came back in a few hours and surely enough the gum was gone. Whether it was spirits or nature is up to you. I left my empty pack of Orbitz there the second time, trying to "punk" the spirits or make light of the whole thing. Well within ten minutes of us leaving, we got a flat tire. Then our spare went flat. We couldn't find out how we got the flat either, crazy night =).

I live not too far off from the mansion Ive been out the a few times.. Ive noticed that noone on here seems to have mentioned the basement by the basketball courts its jus a small hole now off in the grass but me and a few friends went down into it.. lol and I havent been back since that night but anyways if anyone goes out there be sure to go find it.. Walk past the cemetery an when ya get to the little shack thing turn left be sure ya have flashlights an pay attention to the ground so ya dont miss its just a hole barely big enough to squeez into.. Goodluck

This is a question for Scott. I live in Joplin and i have been to Hoffman's Mansion. It was a few years back and the only thing that i do remember is that there is a "hole in the ground" when i was there it look like beds made out of old wood. It was probably one of the scariest things that i have ever experienced. i was wondering if you planned to do any more investigating. I would also like to hear about what you find out. I normally don't believe in this kind of stuff but i really think that something thing is going on there.

well i have been reading through a lot of this and some of the ppl need to get the facts figured out a little better than what they have, the mansion itself is in oklahoma, i dont know why ppl are saying joplin or seneca, its actually about a 1/2 a mile north of i 44 if u are coming frm the peoria oklahoma way, its closer to the quapaw oklahoma area. there is no documentation or proof anywere of hofffman murdering his family or the other way around, the only remaining structure is the "slave quarters" and there is a couple of walls standing from the guest house, the mansion obviously is not there and hasnt been for a while now. If anybody would like direction to the hoffman property let me know i have been there more times than i can count, and have even got permision from current land owners to investigate the property. There is quite a bit of activity at this location but dont beleive all the terrible stories that you here.

I was in Hoffman's mansion before it was bulldozed. There was a room that was all red, walls floor ceiling. We tried every door and window, locked, when returning to front, a window was WIDE open. We heard kid's footsteps, laughing, like evil laughing. My friend Joe said he saw himself hanging from a rafter and ran out to the car. Then what sounded like a tornado/evil roar tore through the house we heard glass break and left. I returned several years later after the bulldozing and heard something big chasing us (almost like a wind) several yards into the backyard past the pool, where the house is bulldozed into. There is a small cellar there. When we stepped up to where the front door would have been we felt an amazing magnetic like pull on our legs. I once met a man named Jamie G. who claimed to stay there as a boy when it was a boy's home. Hoffman he said was not a murderer, but was into child porn, making the boys kiss and pose for pictures, I cannot be sure if it was Hoffman or another couple that ran the boy's home but there certainly was one there in the late 70's early 80's. Jamie said one of the boys jumped out the window trying to make it into the pool and missed and died, he was told to bury the boy in the woods in the back. When I asked the true story, locals in Peoria acted as if I were insulting the Hoffman name, and that he was a good man. Leave it alone and don't come back. I also heard one of the caretaker's made meth in the house, ran it down, a deal went bad and a van was burned on the premisis, then condemned. I believe Jamie G. the fear and tears were too real to be just a story. Too many stories, no documented proof! Be careful if you visit, there is a bondsman with a shotgun ready to welcome you back from where you came from!
