A few years ago, Martin was reading David McCullough's book Truman, and a photo of construction in the White House caught his eye. It was taken during remodeling around 1950 by National Parks Service photographer Abbie Rowe. The apparent apparition is clear and startling. Compared to the other men in the photo, its size scale is accurate.

WOW! Thanks Willow! They say there are some ghosts in the White House, but I've never seen pictures. That's neat!

I'm hoping it's a ghost....but thenm again it might be one of those exposure issues. If it is real I wonder who it might be.

  • Interests:I love to do yard work, re-arrange my home constantly, draw and get tattoos that have significant meaning to me, garage sales/yard sales fanatic. My home is haunted by I believe 2 spirits, so I'm never alone when everyone is asleep! I'm trying to label the gifts I have, although I try to keep them a secret from my husband..he wouldn't understand. My 20 year old is now living on his own and does so great! My 6 year old is a little me, and the baby will be 5 December. He's about 8-12 months behind, but that smile...that beautiful smile.

Interesting pic. It looks like a young man standing firm on the ground in a stance with his arms folded in front of him.

I've got a question.
If this had been a modern photograph someone would have already chimed in with "matrix affect". Why hasn't that happen now?

What is the difference between an image this old, and one posted by Redhead

I was at a conference this past weekend. We had a chance to go on an investigation on Saturday after the presentations. One of the locations we were at was the cellar of the restored general store. One of the presenters is in this shot - she had seen a dog appear shortly after I took this.

I can clearly see the dog.

To me they are both convincing photographs.

Who is to say the "matrix affect" isn't how a sprit chooses to manifest in a photograph.

Just a thought.
