Laser detection: Hmm. It could work. Pointers are cheap. Detectors less so. I'm wondering if IR could do it. I have the parts. Don't have enough time!

Yes I received the samples and did some evaluation on them. They did work but not as well as hoped in this app. They seemed to trigger on extraneous vibrations and LF noise to an extent that any legitimate output could not be depended on to be accurate.
I haven't written them off yet because there may be some other ways I can stabilize the output. Still working the project as time permits.
