R.I.P. To “People’s Court” Judge Wapner, Passes Away At 97

The feisty, outspoken judge who’s responsible for bringing reality TV to television, Judge Joseph Wapner, of People’s Court, has passed away today (2-26-17).

Most of us, Old Schoolers remember when Judge Wapner used to take no mess in his court room and also gave passionate talks when he felt his court room visitors needed to hear it. He was the very first reality TV star when he brought his courtroom into our living rooms in 1981.

I just saw that. He was greatly appreciated by the world. I watch him over and over in The Persuaders. That was a fun, under-appreciated TV series that only lasted one season. And his first movie was "The Sins of Rachel Cade" with Angie Dickinson and Peter Finch. Worth a watch if you like classic movies.

Who owns the land? Only the land knows. We mortals are passersby, and our lives are but a brief moment in the great span of time and space. We are born, we live out our lives, and most of us do the best we can with it, but the wind is forever, and the rivers flow forever to the sea, and all the seasons of the weathers will come and go after we are gone. But the Earth endures, the Earth is eternal" - Earl Hamner
