I will be doing the same as you Angel. I will watch it later and decide for myself. Everyone is different. One man's treasure is another man's garbage. There is no such thing as a "review"...it is just one person's opinion. I have seen so many movies that were panned, and I loved them and vice versa. Does that mean I have lousy taste? I don't really think so, it's just that it appealed to me and touched me in some way that was relevant in my own life. Everyone is on their own path and nothing can be really bad...It is just how we perceive it on an individual basis. Enjoy "White Noise". Let us know your opinon. I will be doing the same.

Take care!

I just finished watching "White Noise" and I really liked it for the most part....except for the ending. I found the finale of the movie to be disappointing and confusing. I definitely got the point of the whole thing, but I feel it could have been wrapped up in a better way. Don't ask me how, I'm not a director or producer...just your average movie watcher. I know that he was wrestling with the spirit, but I don't think it was done very well. Up until that point, I was really into it. Although, at times I wasn't sure if If was watching "White Noise" or "Superman". I half expected Michael Keaton to put on a cape as he went racing to save someone.

When he visited the the psychic and she said he was definitely meddling....it really made me think. I really never thought of EVPs in the same light as the Ouijia Board until now, but maybe there is some truth there. If the Ouijia can be deceptive, why not EVPs?

What I found interesting was at the very end where they stated that 1 out of 12 EVPs were overtly threatening.

All in all, I liked this movie. It held my interest...I wasn't bored.

White Noise was a horrible movie! If I was a non-believer and watched that movie, My impression of a ghost hunter would be, that they like to try to reach evil spirits through a darn fricken T.V. I was so disappointed in the movie, yes it did start off good then it did a 180 degree turn and turned VERY bad. That movie makes us Hunters look very evil. Thats my thoughts. 2 thumbs down for white noise and Mike Keaton, oh and the director, whoever that might be!! Dave

I jumped a few times. I was thinking the whole time that this is the electronic age's answer to the ouija board. Interesting film. I'm going to have to watch it again because I feel like I missed something. I didn't understand what happened after he went to that warehouse place. It like either I didn't get it, or they didn't know how to end the movie. :wow:

No, it wasn't you...they didn't know how to end that movie. I replayed the "warehouse" scene over and over and still didn't get anything from it. I was totally into the film until that point ....and then, they lost me. Everything that I had been thinking and feeling up until that moment just vanished. I guess they had to go for the gusto, but it was nothing but confusion. It is so typical, it seems like noone knows how to end a film in an appropriate manner, ;)

I seen it like a month ago so sorry if I'm not remembering this right but. . .In the end I found it very confusing and um . . humorous . . . it seemed, to me at least that the murderer guy and the 'evil spirits' were like, in it together or something. . . I swear it reminded me of Scooby Doo and I was expecting the evil thing to pull off a mask and reveal the next store neighbor or some crap.

So how about..the movie was so..UN awe inspiring, that I totally forgot I was supposed to note back & give my opinion after I watched it. The ending was quite a letdown. I mean,it wasn't a HUGE thrill to begin w/ but ohMY!

I was pretty dissapointed in the movie. It started off good but took a turn into typical Hollywood thriller territory towards the end. My question for those folks who have first hand experience with EVPs is this: Do any of you think EVPs can contain premonitions about the future as the movie has them do? I've never heard this idea put forth anywhere other than in this flick.

I agree...I saw the movie a while ago and yes it did turn out to be another "Hollywood Thriller" and that's just what it was.

The sounds were cool , but why make a movie and add all that premonition stuff , I mean is there proof of this?

I have never heard of this either , until I saw the movie..

I thought the movie was ok. I liked the ways he gets the EVPs but i dont think they open portals or anything like that. I watched the special features on the DVD and did anybody else see the shadows that flash through the screen while there walking through the house.

My question for those folks who have first hand experience with EVPs is this: Do any of you think EVPs can contain premonitions about the future as the movie has them do? I've never heard this idea put forth anywhere other than in this flick. Also, the movie seems imply EVPs have the potential to unleash evil ala a ouija board. Again, I've never heard this claim before. Another Hollywood invention, or is there some basis for it? The documentary bonus features included on the disc in which real people who study EVPs are interviewed seem to confirm that the movie took substantial liberties with what is generally believed about this phenomenon, but I didn't see any outright admission to that effect.

Not only did you sum up pretty much what I was thinking, I also couldn't agree with you more. Well said, Bob.

I heard that "White Noise" was released on DVD this past Tuesday. It was a movie that I definitely wanted to see, but couldn't make it to the theater.

My friend called me the other day and told me that she saw it and thought it was great. I had mentioned to her that I would probably want to buy it rather than rent it because it would be a movie I would love to own. She cautioned me against it. She said "Rent it, watch it and bring it back". She had a terrifying paranormal experience while watching it, she wouldn't go into detail but she feels that keeping the movie around the house will open up portals that should remain closed. I still would like to buy it though. I guess I like to look for trouble. :D

i have that movie
no paranormal experiences though
it wasn't that good at all, i agree with bobnoxious
i expected much more from this film.
sad. i wasted $10.97 meh
