I was fast asleep last night. I sleep on my right side. For some odd reason I woke up in the middle of the night. When I opened my eyes I was face to face with what looked to be a woman's face about an inch or so away. As my eyes focused the image went away. The face was all white and see through and I didn't see any eyes on it. As I woke up more and tried to get my heart back into my chest I had to wonder if I really happened or if it was a dream or something.

Thas is pretty creepy. Aside from the noted panic, did you feel anything else like cold, an electrified feeling or maybe a sensation of being covered by cobwebs? If not it could have just been a dream that was still in your mind when you woke up.
A few years ago something like that happened to me. I woke up from a pretty deep sleep and looked up at my cieling and if you ever saw the Beavis and Butthead do America movie. Think the Rob Zombie animated part. 'plastered' on my cieling was a ton of animated monsters which reminded me of just that. It was pretty cool and I just watched them do their thing till they faded away.

It sounds like you were bringing things back from the sleep world; it's that space between being fully awake and fully asleep. Nothing to be worried about, nothing to be scared of. It happens all the time to everybody.

Pretty scary! When I was living in the first "haunted house" my parents moved into, I woke up one night with a hand in front of my face, like someone was getting ready to clamp their hand over my mouth. I don't think I've ever screamed so loud in my life!
