The spookiest time of year is nearing! It will be nice to take a break from the real spooky things in order to celebrate!

Just watched The Final Girls last night (spoofy horror movie). Was very good. Had a surprising amount of heart.

Hope you all are well!

Don't think my GM's fully realized how fragged she is with letting me go nuts decorating for the holidays. Workmama mentioned me wanting to decorate to her at the end of August, GM said she didn't mind since she doesn't do the whole decorating the store bit, and as long as I keep it kiddo-friendly. Let's just say... The customers have been treated to little hand made signs on the front counter registers and bathroom doors, witch shaped lights on front counter and twinkle lights in drive, a happy halloween kitty sign, a trick or treat tombstone and treat bucket, and a few other things.

LG - Has anyone complained about it being too early or is everyone ok? Have seen some online gritching about 'too soon'.

KG - Ummm . . . that seems like an awfully long time. Overtime with nothing to do?

RM said a few customers have said it's too early, but the overwhelming response that I've gotten/have heard second hand has been positive. I've got some pics posted over on my Instagram account, if you want to see. PM if you want my insta handle, since it's got a cuss in it.

Nice, Kats. Hope it went well for ya!

Adopted a little dragon stuffy from Michaels Monday, and he's been kind of sadly looking at the baby blanket I've got in progress, and saying he'd like a blankie of his own... Soooo, now I'm crocheting a blankie for a dragon... Bad enough I've got a dragon muse pestering me all the time about his story.

LG - Am laughing a little picturing you knitting a blanket for the wee dragon. At least it won't have to be too big.

KG - How did the comic con? Good attendance?

Just watched the first episode of the new American Horror Story: Apocalypse. Very unsettling.

lol Don't blame you. It's kind of soothing in a way, and he's now got a mini version, too.

Hoping our Asian Girls Posse checks in soon - may have to DM/PM them to make sure they and their families are all ok.

Definitely getting the 'horrifying weather occurrences' in the beginning of a major disaster movie feeling - but in real life.

Other than that, though - just chugging along and counting the minutes until Autumn begins around these parts. Going to be a very fun haunting season (though, luckily, no ghost sightings at home).

Hi peoples, finally have time to post in GV after an 'eventful' month, weatherwise. Looks like Autumnbelle and I have some sort of connection because in her last post she mentioned about how we are all here in this part of the world.

What can I say? We had another typhoon in early August before we got hit with Mangkhut (which is the international name) but here we call it 'Ompong'. The early tropical typhoon in August already brought in rain to soften up the northern part of our island (Luzon) but the big one last week, Ompong (which you have probably seen in the news) cleaned up what the one earlier in August started.

I don't mean to brag or anything when I relate this, but just sharing what I've experienced so here goes:

  • we've had rolling black-outs so we pretty much have to do what we can in a certain amt of hours before we have electricity again. Not only electricity but water as well. We have the light switch on and a faucet on and if water starts flowing we're like, 'who's first to the CR?' (we call the washroom,  CR, Comfort Room here in the Philipines..a bit of trivia okay?)
  • some roads have flooded leading up to our town. We were expecting a delivery but the person told us he would be late a day because he had to detour due to flooding
  • A friend of ours up in Baguio City (in the mountains, look it up in Google) was supposed to visit but they are having landslide issues right now so she'll wait another time to visit us.
  • During the height of Mangkhut or Ompong a friend pocket dialed me and when I answered all I heard was the fierce wind blowing. I was even surprised the cel service was up so I`m like `hello, hello`no answer. So I called back and my friend answered and apologized saying it must have been a pocket dial because they (her family) were all bunched up in their house hoping none of them flies away with the winds or drowns with the flood.
  • one of our hired hands actually went up to try to untangle the electric cables that got entagled in some of the trees that collapsed and when my husband saw that he`s running out of the house yelling , no! no! don`t do that! We care about about him and we don`t him to die.
  • as for our fish business....I told our fishermen a while back not to risk to going against Ompong. They did what they were advised and tied their boats down but some were not lucky and their fishing boats flew away or were damaged.
  • lastly, I`m okay. Hi GV, Hi Autumnbelle, Nacho, Moonie, Kats,.....Heard Florence was strong there too.

Have to go now. Don`t want it to happen when the electricity runs out. Good night.

BOO! scared? lol
