Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity

I finally got a chance to go see Sinister last week!

I enjoyed the premise...takes the "found footage" popularity and puts a more sophisticated twist to it. There were also a few good jump scares and the entity was pretty creepy looking. Other than that, the movie was so-so. There were a lot of aspects and things that resembled subplots that just didn't seem finished or complete, so I'm thinking that maybe there were some key scenes that didn't make the final cut.

My boyfriend wasn't as impressed as me, though...he said he bordered too much on the "torture porn" genre, which I don't necessarily agree with, but there were some disturbing acts of violence key to the plot.
