Hi guys -

I'm looking for locations that are supposed to have activity in the Fort Worth area. I'd like to find buildings where they will let you record EVP. Anybody from around here that might know someplace?

I've been to numerous graveyards, and to Carter, TX. I've actually had more luck at my house than anywhere else I've tried to record! Looking for someplace new. There is actually a little bar in Azle that I would LOVE to record in, but the owners don't seem very friendly, so I don't think they would go for it. Bonnie and Clyde spent a lot of time out in this area - the history around here is pretty cool. The older locals say that if you took the siding from the building of that bar, the original walls underneath still have bullet holes in them! Jacksboro Highway (199) was pretty wild back in those days - I hear that the only thing out here were really rough bars.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I grew up in Central Texas, and the stories of the "knife and gun" clubs along the Jacksboro Highway are legendary. There's no telling what sort of energy you might pickup ghosthunting in some of those old juke joints . . . just be careful, OK?

thirdshift, you must be thinking of the Crazy Water Hotel in Mineral Wells. Here's a good place to start if you want more information:

Thanks guys! Yes, I'd love to actually go someplace with other people. It's usually just me unless I can drag my mom out. Most people out here look at you like you are crazy when you tell them what you are doing. I usually lie when someone comes up at a cemetery and asks what I'm recording. I tell them I am researching local families and that I like to record the names and dates instead of writing.

I will be careful - I try to anyway. :weeee:

I don't know if you guys heard about the two teenaged boys that killed in that car wreck in September - Matthew and Brandon? I would really love to go out to their graves and try to record. I do not know the family at all, but am familiar with them and the mom just seems beyond any kind of comfort. However, they are very religious and I do not think she would believe it even if I got something. The other thing is, I've never tried to contact anybody specific and wouldn't know whether I was speaking to them or not.

However.... I have had the overwhelming urge to go record out there. I've even dreamed about it twice and got messages from them for their mother. In the second dream I took the tape over and was I could see them standing in a living room against the wall while their mom was listening to their message that they were ok.

It's strange that I dream of them still and I haven't ever met them. Could it be that they really WANT me to record? Might there be something for their mom? My wondering about this has nothing to do with ego. I have no ego concerning the things I've recorded. I would really LOVE to learn enough to help people who have lost loved ones and that's really what I dream of doing.

I'd tread very lightly. I think you owe it to yourself to go th their graves since you have been having dreams, but even if you do get something the family must still be greif stricken and probably won't react to favorabley.
Don't be afraid to tell people what you're doing, yeah it's a bit strange but it is also a great way to make contacts. You never know what their story is.
