I agree with on the "Skeleton Key". Good movie.

I saw 'Skeleton Key' in December and am still freaked out. Can such stuff really happen? I have an over-active imagination and sometimes fear the worst. If you don't believe in the magick generated, how can you be taken over? Or is it just a myth that you have to believe for something to work on you?

With possession I believe you have to actually believe it can happen for you to be open enough for it to happen. I don't believe in possession, but I DO believe in deep suggestion. But also I believe that other things work whether you believe or not.

Kinda like believing in ghosts. You hear some strange thumping sound that seems like someone is walking up the steps, but the house is locked tight, you say it's tyhe house "settling". You see an anomoly in a picture, autpmatically your camera was broken. You get the picture.

I've heard of possession, of course, where usually the inhabitant is put off into another area of the body's consciousness. But displacement of someone out of their body and into another body? In the movie, the 'entities' switch bodies with the bodies' inhabitants. Can someone be forced out of their body into another body, particularly against their will?

Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I've heard of it other places, but it was the "my friends, friend had an uncle who said his friend heard a story of this other guy...." . Other than that I've never heard of it happening, nor have I found a way to even try. Makes for a good movie though.

I've read thousands of stories on the internet and in books, and in the cases of possessions, it's always been that the entity takes over the body and shoves its owner 'into the background'. The owner can either see what's going on and be unable to stop it, or black out.

Perhaps reincarnation can be a way of being shoved out of one body and into a new one.

Sorry, I've got us off topic. I don't know an awful lot about Voodoo, because it seems like something to respect and keep at a distance. Does anyone on this website practice any voodoo or hoodoo?
