But they are correct in at least one respect. The supernatural does not perform on cue. You found nothing on your firt trip. Next time you may have more success.
I'm moving this topic to the Paranormal Websites subboard of Paranormal Media, where it it's better suited.

Paranormal phenomena is outside of human control, rather like the weather.
And I doubt you'll find any road labeled 'Witch Road' on a map of any city, never mind Rosendale (and btw....why would it matter if it's a sleepy two horse town, or a city of significant size?). That sort of thing is found in local legend, which many websites collect and share. Driving through Rosendale isn't exactly going to prove or disprove the exisitance of a road which locals refer to as Witch Road.
Honestly, I don't think you and your mother went through anything horrible in terms of your experience.

Yes, you keep going back and going back, and when you find something, you go back some more. THAT is paranormal investigation. Because, as I already said, like the weather, Paranormal Phenomena is beyond human control. What exactly is wrong with repeat investigations? That's simply how its' done.
I honestly know noone at Shadowlands, and simply cannot comment on why they may not be doing exactly whatever it is you want them to do. (I'll be honest and state that I can't quite figure it out).
And if the Witch Road is an urban legend, then it's an urban legend. I see nothing wrong with a website sharing it for posterity.
And Shadowlands isn't the only place on the Internet for these stories. So frankly, if it's not on Shadowlands, maybe it's here, or on another website out there, since there really is thousands of these websites.

Also, if there is any validity to the claims (read that as .0001% valid), there's no guarantee that everyone will experience something. Most huanted sites don't make good site seeing locations to visit for a few minutes.
Most are, I'll agree with Vamp here, are urban legends, such as the Whitnall Park entry for WI. Total urban legend. It's/was a teen hangout.
Sometimes you'll have the best luck at a location that just draws you to it, not one on a list.

They just have this stuff sent to them and put it up. That is the problem that I see with a lot of sites that don't post their own stuff (not talking message boards of course) and only use submitted things. These submitted things are subject to being only legend or even falsified. You can't believe everything you see on the net. Keep an open mind and tell yourself that these people running that site are human too and not beyond mistakes. If you want to find out about a place in particular, my recommendation is visiting a site of a reputable group that has been there to investigate it, see what their first hand experience tells them. I think that you will get a much better sense of what is really going on that way.

If you make one trip to a place on their list with the intent of actually experiencing something, you will probably be greatly disappointed. How many of us have done investigations at the same location on numerous occasions before getting a hit? Probably more than you realize. If you're really interested in the investigation bit, look for a local group that you can join.

But even if your going to a place that is more legend than fact, you have to go in with an open mind. Don't believe everything you read, but go and see for yourself.

I can't complain, though. They were kind enough to post a link to my web page under the Colorado section.
Or as my mother always told me: "Don't believe everything you hear and half of what you see"

I have investigated 5 or 6 of the shadowlands listing
1 I just told you about
2 started as a story written by an colledge student and got passed around as fact.
3 I got some evidence at
4.have found no validity but its still ongoing.
5. is comming up within a month or so.
6. was torn down before i ever got a chance to investigate.
I submited my findings and nothing was changed or added.
Not that i care a huge amount i just figured theywould want to have the facts straight.. i guess not..
I have also heard claims of them stealing stories and posts from other sites and messgae boards to add to the collection. they have peoples stories on there they never got any permission to copy.
I just dont go there anymore
