The one & only time that I have ever been "read" I was at a conference at a hotel in Dallas. I worked at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas at the time & as being a supervisor I was required to go to this luncheon/conference. We were seated at very large round tables in this large ballroom. My sister in law (at the time) worked with me & she also was a supervisor. There were approximately 15 people seated at our table with only 3 or 4 chairs empty at the time. We were all sitting there talking & drinking tea when this lady that apparently was an aquaintance of a number of the ladies at the table, walks up & speaks to a couple of them. The only person that I knew at this event was my sister in law. After having a short conversation across the table with these 2 ladies she looked at me & asked me if she could talk to me. I said yes & she sat down. She proceeded to tell me that she was a person that could "read" people & she didn't want to offend me but she was told to come & "read" me. Needless to say I was VERY excited but I tried not to show it & I agreed to talk to her. She was almost 100% about the things that she told me. I have never had the experience of having another reading again, but, I think if I could find that woman...I would LOVE to hear what she has to say about the rest of my life. It was really something that I needed at that time in my life too & I have been forever thankful for her having the courage to come up to me & tell me the things that she did. This happened almost 20 years ago now. So I would have to say that my experience was WAYYYY pleasurable!!

most readings are supposed to be uplifting to the subject. this was what you experienced. a need was known and the person you needed to hear from got through to you. people don't realize just how much they are helped from the opther side. a simple conversation with a stranger can be a great comfort, give a solution to a big problem, and even be a warning of something not really wanted, but which is coming. from long detailed readings, to something as simple smile at a critical moment in your life from a stranger can generate great things later even without a "psychic" having given a reading. a simple decision to stop at a store, or a car not starting easily can bring about, or prevent tragedy. it depends on what is in the person's best interest, and sometimes is a repayment for some past deed, or a way to learn a hard lesson, and spirit is always involved in some way. they want to help, but there are also those who seek to hurt. psychics may have a better understanding, but have the problems as everyone else does. whether you consider it good or bad, lucky or unlucky, you will learn the lesson you are being taught, whether you choose to learn it now, or if you have to try to learn it another time. :D :( :(

i have had a few readings, some of the things have came true and some havent. i would say it was more misses than hits for me though. i have had a lot of "psychics" tell me things that have been rubbish. they told me certain things would happen and they havent which kind of puts me off going to get my tarot cards read.

Psychics have trouble reading for me, they say im too strong and i usually end the reading ...actually reading for them. Ive noticed psychics ive went to actually knew alot about my past, but as for the future nada! Maybe because our future changes so much.~Hlee

I have had alot of readings. I had a few readings only to find out that the readings were for the future. I mean future. I got a reading several years ago and remember what was said and everything seems to be unfolding now. One reading I got and I don't remember who but I remember what she said. It was about my brother and she asked if he had passed away yet. I said no. She said that he was really very tired and that my grandmother was waiting for him. My grandmother loved my brother so much. I was frightened by that. She said he would pass away very shortly. I did not think anything about it until after he died. I realized that a few months before a psychic had predicted my brothers death. I spoke to a psychic after his death (new one) and she said their was a man standing by me in a uniform and that he liked the tree that was planted for him. I nearly fell out of my chair. My brother was in the service and had alot of medals and my mother planted a tree for him after his death. I never said anything to her. I started to cry and she said that he says I should not cry for him because he was alright now. I would meet a man with certain characteristics and I did but these were years earlier predictions and I just met him now. Will he come back into my life I really will see. But the description of this man is errie to me since it was years before and at the time I knew no one that fit the description until now. Some are good and some you just can't deny that they are correct in everything they say especially when you never say a word to them about anything.

It's fun at times to know but you need to lead your life. Things can unfold naturally I've learned. After my brothers death I had a dream that on his death and leaving his body he woke up in a field of beautiful flowers and was like so stunned on where was he. My dream was so vivid and the next dream was where he walked in a room with my grandparents being young and all in the room welcomed him. I knew that my brother was alright

giving a reading to a total stranger is the best way a psychic, or medium, can prove his/her ability, not just to you, but to him/her self. not all readers can read all people, regardless of what some may think. i have f0ouynd that i cannot get anything at all for one person, but the one next to him is like an open book. different readers find it easier to read some and almost,if not completely, impossible for him to read another. i don't give private readings very often, and never on the phone if i know the person because i amy be speaking for myself and it is a disservice to the other person to have that happen. a reading is only valid at that time and can be changed at any time as you go forth. some things are more likely to happen but some are lesas likely. the choices people make affects the end anyway, so thinking you should live according to the reading is stupid. it's your life and everything that happens is for your benefit, whether you think so or not. seekj out your path as best you can and if getting readings helps you g0ood, if not, then why bothewr? it's your life to live, not someone elses. acceptt, both the good and the bad and don't think nothing is being done for you because everything is for your benefit. :D :( :(

I got a reading from Merly on this psychic website, and let me tell you, she was on the ball on everything. She knew my past and several things that she said would happen to me, actually happened.
If anyone is interested, the website is www.circleofpsychics.com.

was the reading in person, on the phone, or on computer. in person=good phone=questionable, but possible by computer=i have great doubts.
the future is not set in stone, and can be changed- by you and your choices. it may come about, or it may be changed slightly to not at all, and, occasionalluy, completely opposite.
the rader's accuracy is also affected by how the information he/she recieves is interpeted, not by you, but by the reader. an incorrect interprewtation is not an uncommon occurance, but most good readers make few misinterpratations. :(

Last week I had a telephone reading with a medium, and I was REALLY impressed. The details revealed were amazing, and released any doubts I had about mediums.

She knew minute details about my deceased mother, son, and grandmother, as well as names of great grandparents that I have never met. She validated in many ways that these folks were aware of what is going on in my life right now. It blew my mind! Her method and delivery was very much like I had seen on John Edward's "Crossing Over" TV show.

whoever you got your reading from had a rare gift, that of giving a reading over the phone. i have never tried, nor do i wish to, preferring to be in the same room. but thay is me and not lack of ability. as for john edwards tv show, to me that is all it is, a tv show. for others it may be proof, but as i said, that's me. i have had many readings from many different people, some good, others not. many things were true, many off the mark. like you, i prefer my own sources and they are both accurate, and specific to me and mine. many are long range and many are short and near term. one thing is sure though, don't assume you understand what you are told, it may have another meaning or purpose. :wow:

Hi chessman,
I have done a reading over the phone, but not so much a reading as such, she pointed the phone at things and asked me what she was pointing at, i'd tell her and discribe the items. I was spot on 100%. I had never been in this persons house.

I do readings over the net, i prefer it with ppl i dont know that way they know I'm not a fraud. I dont do it for money, I do it for practice, So i guess for my own benefit as well as theirs. I love doing it, although i have a pile of ppl waiting for one , I havent done them for a long time. Got busy/lazy. It does get tiring lol. I love doing it because its like reading a good book! I get a real buzz from it. I discovered I had a gift by sheer accident. And am very glad I found out.

Oh and i seem to have more trouble with one on one readings because i 'read' the person. I dont like that. I dont like to see them. It just interferes with my reading. I cant predict future or answer specific questions. I just tell them what comes to me. And at thsi early stage in my skil level. Somtimes it can just be mundane boring stuff lol. I did one time do a face to face whilst i was at work with this girl. She must have been very open. Everything i picked up and passed onto her was true. Every name i threw at her was true, my descriptions of the people , everything! That was a good reading!

anyone who gives readings should be able to give them in person. i don't say you have too, just be able to. i've given readings in person and prefer that method, but i don't want or care to give them over the phone or the net. giving a reading means to read the person, i have never been able to just give someone something without doing so, and have never met anyone who didn't read the person whether on a phone or in person, but i do think it is possible. each reader gives whatever they can using whatever method is available to them so if you pre3fer one method over another, be my guest. anyone who is gifted, which is everyone (though most are not aware of their abilities), should do all they can to develope it but should also be aware that it is not wiothout its pitfalls. for some it may seem a sudden gift, but the developement is usually a matter of steps over a number of years. you seem to have gotten yours withyout much formalized training, but i suggest you at least do a lot of reading on the subject so as to understand it as much as possible, and not think it will just be always an easy gift to have, because it isn't and can bring some unexpected problems which some are unaware of. i wish you luck and godspeed for your betterment. :wow: :Spaz:

I have had a few readings, more hits than misses. One reading several years ago stands out. I was downsized from the company I worked for, and had not been working for about three months. I went to the Spiritualist camp not far from here for a reading. I was told that I would find work, and he saw me working at a job connected somehow to education. He didn't know what that meant, but I would be working, not a student, and it would be sooner than I though. Well, a few months later I found myself working as an administrative assistant at a local college. I didn't even realize it until the next spring when I saw Sy again. He asked me if his reading was right and it all connected.

I think that the way to tell if you are getting a bad reading is if they ask you a lot of questions - leading questions. If they just start to talk in a sort of stream of conciousness, then you feel pretty safe that they aren't frauds.

Very true. With a reading they're supposed to get information on you and pick things up. At least that's what I expect since that is what happens with me. When someone asks me a question I can usually try to sense for the answer from their guides or just from the powers that be in general. If I don't know something I'd just tell them. Usually with me what I'm supposed to know will just come towards me. I've done readings on myself that have come true. I've also had readings but it's too far in the future and not a time is guanrteed with it but it still seems to be happening if I think what is going on now with me deals with that. Usually I just get a message and just know something out of nowhere or can pick it up. But I would agree with that.

Most of the time I can't be read very well. I've been to some outstaning psychics, but I guess I have some sot of block. They can usually pick up on certain parts of my personality, and mood, but as for predicting the future....Nope. I just stopped going really. I figure that my path will unfold however it's supposed too. Since the predictions are subject to change anyhow, what's the point?

One thing that came true for both me and my wife..... Every psychic or spirit board or any thing else all predicted that our first child would be a girl. That, of course came to be. They all say we will have three children. Girl, boy, girl. One down, two to go. We shall see.

When my wife and I first met, we spent alot of time around that circle. The phsycics, and wiccans, and spiritualist. The Duchess herself used to be quite good at the Tarot. But in recent years we've fallen away from it. My focus turned to History and ghosts. The wifey just got too busy with other day to day things. I hope she gets back into it though because she really was very good.

Interesting about your block. Perhaps you or your guides decided to block your future knowledge so you can't know everything. There has to be some surprises. ;) I have a tendency to want to know everything about my future and of course that can be heartbreaking because not everything happens and things change all the time so my guides want to protect me and help me grow as a soul so perhaps the same is for you and why you're blocked.

There is something about John Edward that I don't like. I just get awful vibes whenever I even just see his name much less think about him (like right now) or whatever. Perhaps it's just telling me that he isn't very real or something. All I know is I just don't like him. Does anybody else feel this way?

I just got goosebumps reading about your brother! How awful but yet peaceful too. Very strange on the flowers thing. Do you know why he went there first before going to the other room? I think he probably wanted to tell you that he was fine since it's easier for spirits to communicate with us while we're dreaming. I've had several dreams where I was with my grandfather (who died last year from cancer) and we were talking since I missed him so much. But I'm glad the psychic was right about your brother. :) Do you ever feel him come around and did you feel him around before the psychic told you about him?

Wow how interesting. I bet it took a lot of courage for that lady to come over to you as well. I know it would have been me since it's not super easy for me to approach people. I'm glad it was pleasurable for you. :)

:wow:

Hiya Chessman!!!

I am sorry its taken so many decades for me to reply! I got d/c from the net not long after this was posted and didnt really get back on properly until now! I didnt have email notifications coming any more so I forgot all about this thread!

Thanks for your advice. Yes I believe I can do face to face readings, BUT not so good with people I know. I do best when I dont know the person.

i had a reading done before. it was pretty accurate... well half of the things came true and half are for my future i guess. so it may or may not happen cos the futures not set. it's amazing how someone can tell your future.

was the reading in person, on the phone, or on computer. in person=good phone=questionable, but possible by computer=i have great doubts.
the future is not set in stone, and can be changed- by you and your choices. it may come about, or it may be changed slightly to not at all, and, occasionalluy, completely opposite.
the rader's accuracy is also affected by how the information he/she recieves is interpeted, not by you, but by the reader. an incorrect interprewtation is not an uncommon occurance, but most good readers make few misinterpratations. :wow:

I got a reading from Merly on this psychic website, and let me tell you, she was on the ball on everything. She knew my past and several things that she said would happen to me, actually happened.
If anyone is interested, the website is www.circleofpsychics.com.

Cheers

Oh wait...I see...I see... I see :wow: spam   :)

spam? or could it be looking for more business, before it gets spammed? i'll have to check it out first! NOT in this life!!

Readings are about energies. There is no reason to assume they must be when you are in person with the psychic/medium. Telephone, computer, are just tools of communication that can be used with the energies.

There is something about John Edward that I don't like. I just get awful vibes whenever I even just see his name much less think about him (like right now) or whatever. Perhaps it's just telling me that he isn't very real or something. All I know is I just don't like him. Does anybody else feel this way?

I just saw this comment and had to reply....I am glad I am not the only one! I too feel there is something wrong here...can't quite put my finger on it. He does ask a lot of questions. And I was told (remember only one experience) that when attending one of his TV presentations (and it wasn't cheap) the staff tell everyone (off camera) to agree on camera no matter what...it makes for better TV presentation.

I think John Edwards is a fraud. That's just the feeling I got the two times I've seen his show. He talks fast and throws to much information out there and generelizes enough that most people'll find something to agree with and when they happened everyone gets all exited. Makes me wonder how many "plants" are in the audience.

I have never had a "reading" and I am not sure I want one. I think I like not knowing what the future will bring. I'm not sure why that is, maybe because I spend so much time second guessing myself?

I guess I also have a hard time belieiving that an accuret reading can be done over the computer. But I have zero experience with it, so I could be wrong.. . .
