If memory serves me right, once the property sells you're supposed to unbury St. Joseph and then display him prominently in your new home . . . no luck here, though there has been some movement in the way of getting the price down to a reasonable level where people will look at the place. In my case, I only own half the house. My late wife's son is the executor, and he has control over the selling price. I can only make suggestions . . .

I may have to exhume St. Joe and move him elsewhere. I buried him next to the For Sale sign, but now I've noticed that all the dogs in the neighborhood (including mine) have become rather fond of the pole holding up the sign. I'm sure St. Joe is not very happy with me . . .

Perhaps St. Marylin or St. Elvis can help you? :-D

From Cindy Adams's column today:

REALTOR Barbara Corcoran on how to make your home on the market really cut through the clutter: "Put up a picture of some dead celebrity. Like stick Marilyn Monroe on the wall. A few bucks at a souvenir shop, and your residence suddenly stands out above the rest. You're not saying Marilyn was ever in your place, but you're not saying she wasn't."
Who owns the land? Only the land knows. We mortals are passersby, and our lives are but a brief moment in the great span of time and space. We are born, we live out our lives, and most of us do the best we can with it, but the wind is forever, and the rivers flow forever to the sea, and all the seasons of the weathers will come and go after we are gone. But the Earth endures, the Earth is eternal" - Earl Hamner

Heav, this isn't a spell, but it works around here. I have no idea where this started, or how. You go to a Catholic gift store, one that sells statues of Saint Joseph and buy a small one. You bury it on the grounds of the property to be sold. There is a prayer you say, but I don't know it -I'll look for it though if you think you'd be interested. People around here swear by this.

I HAVE A SAINT JOSEPH AND PRAYER BURIED UPSIDE DOWN IN THE FRONT GARDEN FACING THE HOUSE MAYBE I NEED TO TURN IT AROUND AND FACE THE STREET. IT'S BEEN THERE FOR ABOUT FIVE SIX MONTHS I HAVE HAD OFFERS BUT 13000 LESS THAN I WANT. I READ SOME PLACE I'M NOT SURE IF IT WAS THIS SITE BUT SOMEONE SAID DO NOT BURY THE FEET I WILL DIG IT UP IF I CAN FIND IT I DID TRY THE OTHER WEEK BUT I COULD NOT FIND IT NOW ALL THE PLANTS ARE COMING TO LIFE THE GARDEN LOOKS DIFFERENT!

secrets, at this point I'd try just about anything! I'll exhume St. Joe tomorrow and bury him facing the street with his toes up poking out!

This is tricky...My dh owned a house before we were married. I loathed it. After almost three years, we bought another house, which I LOVE. We did a sale/lease on the old house. Didn't work, we ended up renting it, and now, five years later, a friend of my dh is living there.

He has not paid us since August!! My husband is paying 2 mortgages. The first of every month puts him in a FOUL mood, which he takes out on ME, since he can't berate TJ. TJ needs to sell his old house before he can buy ours, but the dumba$$ also has a federal tax lien for $180k, which precludes him getting a loan to buy our house until it is paid. TJ doesn't actually OWN the other house, he is doing a sale/lease and owes $150k. TJ has a car, a truck, and a very large Harley, plus 2 kids in private colleges and high school. He works for a mortgage company and apparently sucks at it.

TJ, with tears in his eyes, offered to sell the Harley. Dh said "Awwww, that's okay." :ghost: Then he came home and started picking on ME, as usual. :Spaz:

So...dh says that *I* can't bury St. Joseph at our old house bc it's "not for sale." I have no connection to TJ's house. TJ has to do it, right? Since he is a lazy a$$, dh is going to go buy the statue and stand over TJ while he buries it.

TJ's house was just renovated (he owes dh another $8,000 for the materials :Wall:) and he lowers the price by $5k every month. His ex-wife is the realtor.

Will this coercion negate the power of St. Joseph in any way? I do feel stupid asking, but I've always done my spells quietly and secretly. Dh is happy when I get results, but he never wants to discuss what I did :eyeroll:

FWIW, TJ is a Catholic. I was raised as one, but officially left the Church in 1992.

Thanks so much! Sorry this was so long!

Just thought of something else. Maybe TJ's house should be cleansed? With sage, or something else? ANYTHING to get this monkey off our backs and get rid of TJ's house, our old house, and TJ!!! He owes us more than $24k and dh has had to liquidate stocks to make both payments! And I am SICK and TIRED of being the whipping girl!!!!

{groan} I can feel your pain, Damaris. I'm in much same situation. Having a buyer right now would solve a lot of problems for me, that's for sure. What could it hurt if you asked St. Joseph to help with the sale of TJ's house? I'd try anything once! A little sage wouldn't hurt, either . . . unfortunately, this is a good example of what happens when you mix friendship and business. Been there, done that, lost money in the process

What about a spell or prayer for obtaining a home?
We were thinking of buying the one we presently rent but oh my the problems it has with roof leaking foundation etc,,and the noise is unbelievable.
Anyway who do we bury to get a home to buy?

Hi Damaris !
That is a horrible situation,,I feel so bad for you,,,I apologize and understand it is your hubby's friend but seriously its you guys or him and I would take him to court and get rid of him..you are going to lose so much and when your credit gets affected,,oh hon I cannot tell you what you already know.
Sometimes tough love is the only thing and it seems like TJ is using/manipulating your hubby...
My prayers are with you.
