Yes, it was John Amos who left the cast of MTM to appear in the role of James Evens in Good Times.

Speaking of Mary Tyler Moore, her first TV role was as a secretary in Richard Diamond, Private Detective from 1957 to 1960. The part was unique in that you only saw one part of her body. What body parts(s) did the viewer see?
