My folks told me about a similar thing in the UK in a small northern industrial town, where 'blue' people lived.
My hunch is that its to do with some kind of industrial pollution or some byproduct of mining or something.

But as we all know, some people can't get past the color of our skin. This modern day "blue man" is learning that the hard way:

  • Interests:I love to sleep!!! I also enjoy reading, some of my favorite authors would be Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Edgar Allen Poe. My favorite tv shows are Ghost Hunters, America's Most Haunted, I Shouldn't be Alive, anything on the Discovery Health Channel, Myth Busters, Desperate Houswives, Grey's Anatomy, House, American Idol, Trading Spouses, The Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill. But I obviously don't watch any tv. I also enjoy making new, pretty medic alert braclets, and earrings.

On "Private Practice" the other day I was watching it the other day (kinda) while I was beading or doing computer stuff (I don't remember)... But anyways, they had blue kids on there and they were sick, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with them and they gave them methylyne (spelling) to turn them back to their natural color. Eventually they figure out that the kids are eating something from a building site? Or something like that... I can't remember because I wasn't paying attention... If it doesn't have McDreamy I don't care! But that's what I remember....

  • Interests:Well, I'm obviously into unexplained paranormal. I have intrest in Bigfoot/Sasquatch, and UFO's along with ghosts/spirits. Outside that I enjoy music, heavy metal and rock, with some rap. Big sports fan, and Sci-Fi junky. I really like watching movies, history channel and ESPN. Don't watch sit coms much, my work schedule rotates so it's hard to follow your typical drama series, only one i've really watched is Jericho, and Ghost Whisperer. But have not watched Ghost Whisperer in prolly oh, 2 years. Outside that i'm pretty boring and kinda hang out really.

Well for starters I am from the area of the Blue Fugates. It is Perry Co., they are from a small isolated community, I know it as Happy Holler, not sure what it is really called nor do i know why it is called Happy. I am from Hazard the main town in the county. But it was long beleived the pigmentation was from inbreeding, within the Fugates. And if i recall they had some pill that they took to clear their discoloration, and only turns their urine to blue, instead of their skin. This is kinda old information as i learned it about 15 years ago, when i was in early high school, and then asking family members of mine who had lived in Perry Co., their entire lives (i moved to Lexington, KY at age 7) so this could be information of just mainly opinions, but to my knowledge this is fairly factual.
I am the chill that's in the air....Metallica.

This story pops up in the news from time to time, but I haven't seen any updated information since I started the topic. I suspect it's partly because of the medical advances that have led people with this condition to lead perfectly normal lives by taking a simple pill. It may also be--IMHO--that the Fugate descendents are sensitive about their medical condition being discussed in great length on the Internet, not to mention all the snide remarks made because this particular condition occurs among a few family groups in the hills of Kentucky. I know I'd be hesitant to talk about it if I was a member of the Fugate clan.
