Initially, Death may appear to be an alarming card. But this card signifies new beginnings. A chapter in our life is coming to an end. Great change is right around the corner. Death carries the Banner of Life, bearing a five petalled rose (change). Certain things in life are unavoidable (death), but this card does
not mean death is in your near future. Used metaphorically, Death is telling us that we must handle upcoming events which lie in our future.
Reversed
Death acknowledges that there is probably something he would like to put an end to. However, even if he removes himself from the situation, the event will carry on without him.
Supporting Cards
Five of Cups - good-byes
Eight of Cups - moving on
Opposing Cards
Two of Swords - stalemate
Eight of Swords - restriction
