hi..this is my first post. im new here, so forgive me if this topic has already been presented.  
ok. so for the past 3 or 4 months, my friend kristi and i have been talking to spirits via ouija board.  we normally talk to the same three spirits. when we talked to them tonite, they told us to go to gem (a nearby town) to the old school because there was energy there.  we asked them if they knew of any other forms of spirit communication other than ouija and they told us to use the 'pentagram of salt' method. so far, they told us to make a pentagram of salt, place a candle at each point of the pentagram, and call forth the spirits (and to have 3 people present, but 2 would work, too). other than that we're kinda clueless. can anyone help?
does it make a difference if you have only 2 people instead of three?
do we put a circle around the pentagram?
where do we sit/stand?
what kind of questions do we ask and how do we know when they answer?
please help us!! and please post any other information about this that might be helpful. thanks!

instead of using spirit communication and opening up doorways and stuff, why don't you try going to a haunted house and just talking (normally) to a ghost? I would say there are a lot less risks...as for the whole salt pentagram thing...I really don't know anything about it, but I would recommend knowing everything there is to know about it before trying it...you don't want to get hurt and I don't think you want any spirits with less than good intentions following you around...which can happen...I really urge you to be careful...

I kind of agree with Trudy here - It seems strange that the spirit involved is being so specific about where and how you go about communicating - that to me seems a little dangerous.

Think of it like this - we talk back and forth on the boards, but all of a sudden one day I leave a message for you to meet me at a deserted school, wearing certain clothes. Fishy, yes?

If you're absolutely determined to do this, research as much as you can - I mean thouroughly, rather than asking on a bulletin board (although this is a pretty BAD_WORD good one ).

My gut feeling says no on this one though - too specific, and its asking you to do things you don't know about.

...well, they only told us, because we specifically asked if they knew how to do it. they told us about the gem school because we asked, and because we'd been there before. then we asked them to explain to us how it works, so they did...but they never said we had to communicate with them this way, kristi and i just have always wanted to try it.  we didnt have time to ask them anymore questions about it because they told us we should head home so that we wouldnt miss our curfew .....and there was never anything said about wearing certain clothes lol. sorry, i guess i really shoulda been more clear/specific in my first post!


--but anyways- thanks sooo much to everyone who posted.  your input has put this situation into perspective for me and i appreciate your help. tonite is the night im supposed to go w/ kristi to the school...but after this, i really dont know if i can. im definitely going to consider everyone's opinion. thanks again!!!

IIRC, salt is usually used for *banishing* spirits...perhaps if the intent were to keep a spirit confined within the pentagram?  That's the only thing I can think of that sounds similar.  Well, certainly research before trying, anyway.

yah, the salt (as far as i know) is to keep the spirit confined. the pentagram is meant as protection. it protects the persons from the spirits, so that they won't be harmed.  each point of the pentagram symbolizes an element: water, fire, air, earth, and the top point represents spirit.  three is the number of harmony, which i'm assuming is why you're supposed to have three people performing the communication process.

hmm..so yah, first of all, i have to thank everyone who told me not to go into the school.  but if it werent for the statement above made by arawa, i wouldnt have been able to convince my friend that we shouldnt have gone.  before we were about to go, i told kristi that i didnt wanna go and i asked her to play a 'mind game'. so i used this scenario, only i lengthened it and i told her to imagine it was her going into this old rundown place to meet someone who she didnt even know. she was totally freaked. so, first we ouija'd (yah i knwo thats not a word) with brett, who told us that the others were waiting for us at the school.  we didtn really wanna go in the school, so we instead went to a nearby cornfield, where we talked to a spirit named steve. steve told us  all about brett's lies and that he might try to hurt us (and that another spirit inside the school definitely would hurt us). he also said that the pentagram of salt wouldnt protect us.  we listened to him and didnt go in the school.   so thanks for making me doubt the spirits. if you all hadnt made me doubt the spirits, i would have gone into the school. so thanks!
...however, im not sure im out of the woods just yet.  we know we need to close the door with brett, but we have no idea how.  any advice?

Having practiced paganism and using the power of the pentagram, I can tell you that your judgements on this were correct. Wether or not Steve, even, is ligit in his reasons for talking to you and telling you it would be dangerous... it WOULD have been. Period. Salt is protection but only if YOU are the one standing inside of it. Think of it this way... the spirits are already there, at the school, you don't need to draw a pentagram to contact them or bring them forth... the pentagram story was to try to make YOU feel comfortable with the idea of going there. It's a tactic to make you vulnerable even though you think you're protected. The significance of using three people is also a tool in conjuring. I think these spirits were setting you up, not to contact them, but to use YOU as a vessel to contact something ELSE entirely. Not good at all, and I'm glad you didn't go through with it.

First rule of thumb, never ever trust what a spirit on the board is telling you unless you are using the board specifically as a tool to reach your OWN subconscious, in which case, why wouldn't you trust yourself? lol.

Hope you have good sessions in the future, just be careful.

I'm kind of glad you didn't go, bruisepristine. I'm not great on paranormal stuff, but I do know that meeting anyone at a deserted place isn't the safest thing to do.

May you continue to use your good judgement, and I guess I should start trusting my "gut feelings" a bit more

the salt is used for protection like casting a circle of salt and is also the symbol for earth and the pentagram is used for good luck or protection but i have never heard of anyone casting a salt pentagram unless as stated above to keep the spirit confinded in someway which if the spirit told you to go there via the board then it is a strong spirit and should not be messed with.There are other things that can contact you via the board and there are also spirits that can feed on the engery you give them by communicating with them and if this school is a place of great engery then you dont need to go there at all. a normal spirit has only a limited amout of power and can only manafest itself under certain condentions but if they knew of this place and are telling you to go there the something is fishy and more then likely is i very bad place. I would do research on the "spirits" you have been in contact and the school.

Well, if Brett is misleading you in such a way, he certainly could be evil.  I'd say every time you use the board and Brett tries speaking with you, just simply say "We do not wish to speak with you ever again Brett, please leave."  Then move the planchette to GOODBYE to close the board.  Try this for starters.
