It would be interesting to look into Black eyed people in folklore. I have never seen one but would not mind if I did.

I believe it was a reporter who first reported his sightings on that newsgroup. I believe his credentials checked out. He was a sports reporter or something like that?

After doing a quick search, it seems there are multiple accounts.

Brian Bethel created a FAQ which was last updated in 2001 which claims the story is real.

The Museum of Hoaxes has an entry on BEK (black-eyed kids). This article is cited for the decision to delete the Wikipedia entry on BEK.

On 9 Jun 2001, LJL posted to alt.folklore.ghost-stories referring to a discussion a few months prior (seems to be before Google's NG archive) saying The whole BEK thing was a put on, a hoax..

Now when you say "black eyed people" do you mean the entire eye is black or just the iris? (The colored part of the eye...pretty sure it's called iris.) Because if it's just the iris I girl in my class last year had black eyes....they're pretty rare I've heard, rarer than blue eyes....rare as green I think....anyway.

But if you mean the whole eye is black than I can only say in movies, or buffy the vampire slayer...or charmed (good shows btw). But it seems intriguing.

Flat Skinny people? Long Beach is full of them....

heh, I used to scare my mom with these stories when she worked in a hospital. She would have to park alone in a very creepy, dark parking garage.

Umm, the other day I had a really weird experience. I had a run in with this scary guy, he didn't have black eyes, but the feeling ppl say they get around B.E.K's and B.E.P's is what I felt.

Anyway, Me, my friend, and my boyfriend were running some errands and we came to a red light. My friend noticed this guy looking our way and tried to flirt with him. (He was Mexican and she has an obsession with Mexicans. ). Thing is, he was looking at me.
Directly at me, and it wasn't the look of "Oh baby I want you" it was more like "I want to rape and kill you". And I noticed his. pupils to. I mean his eyes were just creepy, and I couldn't look at them for very long

I kinda looked over and gave him a dirty look, then turned told my friend he's ugly. I don't think he would have heard me though. And I kept trying to get her attention but she was darting her eyes to meet with his, wich, if he was looking at her, she wouldn't have to do that. But I could feel him still staring at me. And then I turned around but he was looking down.

I asked my boyfriend later wat happend and he said the guy was staring at me with pure evil in his eyes the whole time. And that he had only looked down for a few seconds. Other than that he was just staring.

I can still see his eyes clearly in my mind. I mean, I have been hit on by guys, stared at, all that stuff. But nothing like that had ever happened before. I felt like if he had access to a weapon... he would have killed me.
