I used to be extremely successful at this several years ago and can't seem to tune into it now to save my life! Not sure what happened along the way. Perhaps people just grow past some forms of communication, or simply grow IN to new ones.

Has anyone successfully made use of automatic writing in their efforts to communicate with the spirit world?

never tried, but is always open by the idea. I have believed though that the communication with the other side actually happens on a different plane ane the outcome (how we see it here) is by different methods. it could be like wrings, maybe ouija, maybe dreams....

well, so let someone who actually have tried Automatic Writing explain ;D

I wonder if there's an actual science to it. I mean, I thought I was pretty informative about the pendulum, but I didn't even consider the use of charts. I just used what worked for me. Is there a specific way of going about it, especially for those who are new to it and didn't just stumble onto it by chance the way I did?

what do you mean "actual science"? channeling is how it works, and it is the science of the mind

I should've said "specific method". Is there a foundation, a WAY of performing automatic writing, that is general to everyone? I didn't word it very well, did I? lol.

Nice site Moon. Thanks for posting it. It gives easy to follow information for the beginnner. I don't know why, though, but I often question forms of communication based on the Internet/computer. I often think technology might take away from the experience, but that's just me.

Hey everyone! Hey Ana! How did you get into automatic writing? What was you first experience?

yeah! what was the first experience like? what made you try? what methods did you use?

Hmmm, let's see. I was in 10th grade, I believe. I'd already been deeply involved in all things paranormal/psychic, so it was just a matter of time before I got to the subject of automatic writing.

I was hoping to communicate with guides or spirits and figured it was one of the safer ways to do so. So, I'd just sit with a pencil (don't use pens, pencils are much more reliable (as far as running out of ink or ink sticking as it does in roller pens) in my receiving hand (my right hand- but your receiving hand is whatever hand you write with). Place the pencil tip on the paper and just try to relax. Normally you'll feel a tingling in your hand. Once your hand starts moving, don't pay attention to what's being written. Oh, it's good to write down questions ahead of time... one question per sheet of paper as you might write REALLY big. lol. Do not, under any circumstances, pick you hand up from the paper to dot i's or cross t's. You'll disturb the flow.

As for my first experience, I was sitting in class, bored, and decided to just space out (as teens in school are known to do, lol). My hand just started moving, writing little squigglies. I just relaxed and let it, and eventually the squigglies turned into words. It was quite an awesome experience! I recommend everyone try it at least once. lol.

So you recommend we space out in class. lol. just kidding. Were your eyes closed or something or were you understanding what you were writing along the way?

I never bothered closing my eyes, I just didn't really focus on the paper. I'd pretend to be listening to the teacher! lol. So, yes, I was completely conscious of what was happening and had, in fact, knowingly invited the experience by writing questions down on a piece of paper.
