Vamp I think I know the case you were speaking of .The parents refused to have their child receive cancer treatments. The government stepped in via the Childrens Aid Society .The child rec'd treatment and the family was followed by C.A.S. for awhile.I don't think any charges were layed.
I too beleive in reincarnation and there fore we choose our parents but I'm not sure it would be right not to do what you can to help your child live.I know I sound judgemental sometimes but I'd really rather know the situation first.
Anyway I guess we all get to be judged in the end.

I'm not sure how I would handle it if my 16yr old refused treat. due to a religious believe .I might have to hog tie him if I thought it would save his life.Really makes me glad it's not me in these cases.

Another spin on the question, how would you feel if it was you that had refused the treatment, and people were trying to change your opinion?

However, I can't say anything about this case if it were religious preferences keeping me from seeking medical care since I DONT hold those beliefs, and my response would be biased. I mean, I can't even imagine a situation like this, nor how I would handle the responses of family and friends. But you pose an interesting question.

I have to agree though, if I was elderly and had a terminal illness, and the treatment was going to cause me to suffer and there was no guarantee, I think I would just make my peace and go out with grace.

Both my parents died of cancer. Both tried to fight it.I learned alot from those days.
If I was told right from the start that fighting would only give me an extra few months ,After a second opinion I would try and make the best of the last days I have.
