Phone Call From The Other Side?

About 4 Fridays ago I had a very unusual experience and I tend to have those once in a while like every few years. They have seemed to be escalating lately but this one takes the cake.
On a Friday night or early Saturday morning I get a phone call. Of course I'm half dead .. no pun and my spouse answers. No one is there. A few minutes later another call she answers the call and no one is there. A few minutes pass the home phone rings again I answer and it is dead at the other end no noise or nothing. I hang up all miffed because I have to work the next morning.
Now being really awake and ticked off I think well why not look at the caller ID and its my mums cell. So thinking she is having an emergency I call her cell. Mum answers after about 4 rings all groggy like ... I woke her and she says hello. I ask her what is going on and if she is ok. Mum says yeah why "what is going on?" I tell her that I have gotten a few calls from her cell according to my caller ID.
Mum then tells me that she got tired of the calls from my sisters phone and had put her cell in the other room so she could get some sleep. I asked her why whats going on?
Mum told me that my sisters home phone had dialed her cell a few times and that no one was on the other end and it was dead quiet. Mum told me that sisters (land line) phone had dialed her cell a few times and she called her home phone to see if there was an emergency and my sister and family was ok yeah every thing was ok but she never dialed she had been asleep!
So I go back to bed wondering WTF is going on and goto sleep.
Next morning I call my sister and explain what had occured. Sis is all like confused and said she never called.
My sis did tell me that her teen daughter was rather frightened the next morning. I asked her why. She said that her daughter (my niece ) had seen an outline of a male in her bedroom door that night at about that time and was terrified and rolled over and stayed awake all night. Now to be honest with you we do not talk about this stuff around the kids and in that household it just does not get talked about period because it just doesn't.
Wow!
Well knowing from the experiences I have had in the last 25+ odd years of my life I was really taken back by this one.
At about the time before the phone calls to our house had occurred I had awoken and saw a male figure standing in the doorway but because I did not feel it was threatening and this stuff happens in our family on occasion I just rolled over and tried to go back to sleep then the phone calls start happening!
I really suspect it was my father who passed on about 3 years ago. Being in a sleepy state I paid no attention to the form in the doorway but reflecting back it was a figure of my father in his prime years possibly! I just don't know.
Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated as it really has me wondering what in the heck went on that night!

whats odd to me though is that you had a caller ID and you heard no noise, i'll tell you why: most of the cases i've read about and the ones i've experienced, there was no caller ID at all, or the numbers are unusual, and theres also static on the other line and very low whisper that you can barely hear, like someone talking and you dont understand (this never happened to me yet, i think)
now to please the skeptics, here is the mundane reason:
phone could have dialed that number becuase of a malfunction or keys being aciddently pressed (happened to me while it was in my pocket)...
now for the paranormal reason:
spirits are known to be an energy, now phones (cordless ones), work on radio waves in channels and are in constant reception mode, spirits may be "opening a channel" and communicating thru it...
thats what i think anyway.... later everyone, gonna take a shower!

So to answer your question, yes phones are a way the dead communicate.

Ali, as far as all 0s, yes I've had that happen on my land line and cell, it's just a way that telemarketers get around call blocking. Also, since many of them dial from an automated system, when you first pick up the phone no one is there because the call gets switched to a real person when someone at home picks up the phone.

It does sound like someone is trying to communicate from the other side. I got a call from my grandmother once, she had passed away before my birthday and she called me on my birthday to wish me happy birthday and to tell me she loved and missed me. I have had other experiences in my home with an old fashioned wooden phone from the 40's which I bought at an antique place. It is not hooked up, yet it has rung during the night, and I have found the receiver moved around as if someone tried calling out or picking it up. I wouldn't get too nervous about what is happening to you, if it is a call from beyond, it is someone who is specifically trying to reach you and your family. I would find a way to try to communicate with them. Good luck and keep us informed.

In June of 2004, my great grandmother passed away. It was hard on all of us, but even harder on my cousin which she had raised since he was a baby. My cousin and I were fairly close because we were close in age. He was completely broken up because it was like losing his mother.
Six weeks to the day after my great grandmother had passed away, my grandfather (her son) called me that morning. He is a truck driver and was on the road at the time. He was a little shaken up and said that the strangest thing had happened to him. He said that his cell rang and he answered it without bothering to look at the caller id cause he would have to put his glasses on to read it. When he answered it, no one was on the other end. It didn't seem that strange to him at the time cause its not uncommon for that to happen to him when he's on the road. About 30 minutes later, he pulled into a rest area. He was working on his log book and the phone rang again. He had his glasses on this time and looked at the id before answering. It was his mother's name and number showing on the id. He was a bit taken back because her phone was disconnected about a week after she had died. He answered the phone, but there was no one there again. He decided to call the number back because he was thinking that someone must have turned the phone back on eventhough no one was living in her house and the house was waiting to be sold. When he called the number back, a recorded message from the operator came on saying that the number had been disconnected and was no longer in service. Thats when he decided to look at his call log to see who the previous caller was before this call. And, of course to his surprise, it was his mother's number.
He called me after that and told me what had happened. He said that he just has this feeling that something is wrong and his mother was trying to tell him something. I really didn't know what to make of it at the time. Afterall, I had never heard of this occurring before. I thought that maybe he had hit a key on his phone to make the number show up accidentally. But he was certain that it was his mother and he said that I would have to take a look at his phone when he got home the next day so I could see it for myself. I just told him ok, and I'd see him tomorrow.
I didn't think about it much more after I hung up the phone with him. About 2 hours later, my mother calls me and she's really upset and sobbing. She said that she had just gotten a phone call from my aunt and that my cousin (who I mentioned above that my great grandmother had raised) had just had a car accident and was instantly killed. He, his wife, and young son had just left their home and they were on the to the doctor's office because his wife had an appointment. His wife was driving, he was in the passenger seat and their son in the back seat. His wife and son said that a bee had gotten into the car. Their son is terrified of bees. My cousin took off his seat belt and was leaning into the back of the car to swat at the bee. His wife wasn't paying attention to the road but what was going on inside of the car. Before she had known it, she had drifted into the on coming lane and over-corrected the car causing it to over turn a couple of times. My cousin had went through the sunroof of the car and the car was resting on top of him and he was dead when the paramedics got to the scene. His wife and son were perfectly fine despite a few cuts and bruises.
Now I would be prone to chalk this up to a coincidence except for two factors. One major factor being that their accident happend right at the entrance to our family cemetary where my great grandmother and grandfather are buried along with other family members. And two, I seen my grandfather's phone when he returned home, and in fact, it was just as he said.
Now I was left the job of relaying the news to my grandfather. When I called him and told him about it, the first thing he said was "No, that can't be!", and I assured him it was. Then he said, "I knew Mother was trying to tell me something.". I believe that she did come through to let us know something devestating was about to take place and that we should be prepared.

When I answered, there was nothing but heavy static and then suddenly I heard what sounded like a woman screaming . . .

I was at the office, and my cell phone starts ringing. I look at the ID, it says "No Data", so I ignore it, thinking it was a telemarketer. A few seconds later, it rings again, and once again says "No Data". Then again. And Again. And AGAIN. Each time it would ring the 4 or so times I have it set to, then a second or two later, would "call back". This happened easily 10 times, literally back to back.
I'm not sure why I didn't pick it up...I just had this "feeling" overwhelm me and I couldn't make myself do it. Meanwhile the logical part of me was saying it was just a nasty telemarketer so I didn't want to even dignify them with an answer.
I got up, went to the break room, got a cup of coffee, came back and the second I sat down the phone rang again. THIS time I answered. I can't even describe what I heard, but I'll try. It was like a faraway voice trying desparately to talk to me. And there was all kinds of bizarre interference. Not regular cell-phone static, but weird tones and blips, like what those giant antennae pick up from deep space. And this VOICE....it cut right to the core of me...it was trying to talk, but couldn't form words, so just kind of moaned and strained. Almost like it had a sock in it's mouth!
It went on for a good 15-20 seconds, and at that point I simply stood up and handed the phone to my co-worker and said "Listen to this". He took the phone, put it to his ear and he just went COLD. His eyes bugged out and he quickly handed the phone back to me, visibly shaken. I hadn't said a word to him about what had been going on. He said "Dude, that was some CRAZY BAD_WORD right there...that was from somewhere else...and I mean SOMEWHERE ELSE".
We were both too shaken to keep working so we just kind of sat there replaying the incident in our minds. I tried to call back the number a few times, but I got a message saying there was nothing to call, that the number didn't exist. The feeling that listening to that voice gave us...stuck with us both for days.
Now to give full disclosure, a few days prior to this happening, I had been on location at a place I've been routinely investigating for some time, and had asked/urged/suggested the spirit that I've been trying to reach to feel free to contact me through any means she could. I even held up my cell phone, joking that she was welcome to try calling me on it!

Does my question make sense? (I know I'm having trouble expressing it sorry!)

It's about a man who says his wife is calling him from beyond the grave via mobile phone, if you read the article you will see how she is able to contact him
