Those two little windows at the top look like eyes to me. lol. They creep me out. I'd go there to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there at ALL. lol. There is too much negative stimga associated with the place and that alone can invite unwanted things.

I couldnt say if I would live there by choice!!!...But I can say I was raised in a house where someone was murdered! And my mom and brother saw him..We called him Fred!
And the pig would be kinda funny....

The Amityville Horror has never been proven to be a hoax, George Lutz is a personal friend of mine and if you ever got the chance to sit down with him and talk to him about the haunting you'd understand that the man definitely went thru something awful not of this world and has amazing advice to any who are interested in the paranormal, about what the whole business is really about

I am really getting into homespun crafts and have recently learned howe to weave a basket, make my own paper and am currently learning to carve wood. <br /><br />I am married (10 years in 2006) and have two daughters who will be 10 and 8 in 2006. We all enjoy hanging around outside in our own yard, but also are fond of grabbing a South Carolina map, looking at it and saying "this looks like a cool place" and we will take off and drive there. <br /><br />I also enjoy meeting other people and learning about other places and cultures and have a few penpals that I am trying to be better at writing to regularly.

I had heard that the house that looked like the one in the movie was torn down and that the new house there looks nothing like the movie-version and that there are people living there but they will not allow anyone on the property.
Also, even IF the Lutzes story did prove to be false (and I don't believe it was a hoax) the fact still remains that Ronald DeFeo did kill his entire family for murder. I think he is still in prison.

Yes, DeFeo is still in prison and probably will be until he dies. The house has been changed a bit since the book/movie, most notably the windows. They still look sort of like eyes, but when they were curved they looked even more sinister. The house used in the movie was not the real house, but one that looked fairly similar. And as a died in the wool skeptic, I'd gladly live there or in any other "haunted" house if it was being sold cheap enough.

I am glad to see the house is still similiar to the original. I knew that one in the movie was not the exact one, but I always liked the shape of the house and so when I heard that a new house was there I had just assumed it looked nothing like the original or the movie version. I was picturing the total opposite like maybe a 1-story red brick ranch style home. lol
