I used to live in Nebraska and there is a Haunted House in Villisca Iowa where there were axe murders in 1912. 2 adults and 6 children were killed and the crime was never solved. Supposedly the house is haunted.

The house is still standing and has been refurbished. They have overnight and lamplit tours.

I did a quick Google search, and came up with a couple of web sites that may get your started. Keep in mind that I didn't check every location mentioned, so I don't know if these places are legally accessable. Please check before you go.

I also found this on Amazon. It's a road guide to haunted locations in Iowa.

Happy hunting!

I can recommend Bentonsport, Iowa. It's in the far southeastern part of the state. Bentonsport is a charming little town out in the middle of nowhere, and there is a haunted church, bed and breakfast, general store, and even an old meeting hall that is haunted too.

You can try Riverside Cemetery in Charles City Iowa. Supposed to be very haunted.
