Hi everyone!  Don't know who may be interested but I'll post this anyway...

GhostChatter.com - 24 Hour Ghost and Paranormal Chat - http://www.ghostchatter.com

A 24 hour ghost and paranormal chat room where people share their true stories and experiences without fear of ridicule, and can seek help if needed.  It was created so that others know that they are not alone in these happenings and that there is a place for them to talk about this be it day or night.

Wow.  Those are some pretty restrictive, draconian rules.

http://www.haunteddiary.com/rules.html

For ex:  "flirting" is "NOT tolerated" (for some of you here, watch out).

Off-topic chat is a no-no.  (among us here, that narrows it down to, um, 1 person).

Posting of links is not allowed?  That's the pot calling the kettle black.  Who are you again???

"DON'T debate in this room."  No comment.  ;)

"Bad manners" are not tolerated.  Quote: "If someone is sharing a story, please try not to interrupt them, save greetings/goodbyes until after they are done."   Does this mean I must also keep my elbows off the desk as I type as well?   Good Lord.  How can you possibly have enough monitors to enforce this rule alone????

Profanity is not allowed.  That's reasonable.  But, can I say "LMAO" or must I keep it to "LOL" only?  Is "ROTFLMGDAO" a bootable offense?

A full profile is required?

Sorry, not my cup of tea.  Prefer the open community here.  Thank you anyway.   :)

P.S.--Say, didn't you send this same spam to alt.folklore.ghots-stories?

Yeah, we've had problems with people calling us a "rapist room".  :)  Not nice when you want to talk about ghosts.  Mild flirting is fine, but for example, the one guy had the name Monkey...and this one woman was always talking about eating his "banana" and "swinging on his tail", it got old after a while, not to mention gave a bad impression of the room in general.

You can post links, just not with "http://www.....", so for instance you'd type ghostvillage.com so that it doesn't turn into a hyperlink because of the viruses and porn spread on MSN.   That's actually the reason why we require profiles as well, helps to keep the room free of porn bots.   Or you can whisper the link or ask a host to post, not that big a deal really.

People like the respect actually, so that someone isn't talking over you while you're trying to share an experience.  It seems to work for us.

No, LMAO is not bootable, haha.  When it gets out of hand we do boot though, because we allow all ages in our room.  And a profile is required because as I said, it helps keep away the porn bots.  And yes I posted this on the ghost stories newsgroup as well, because I believe there ARE people that are interested in talking to others live about this sort of thing, our set up may not be for everyone, but it does seem to work.

*Just wanted to add that if the moderator considers my post spam (though I thought I posted it in a place where you could comment on websites), feel free to remove my postings.  Also, wanted to note that I updated the rules section to include a few things and make others easier to understand. I had meant to get to sometime later in the week, but figured I might as well do it now.  Who knows, maybe it won't be nearly as intimidating now, lol.

Just wanted to say that we no longer use MSN as our chat provider and instead have it directly on the GhostChatter.com site so it should be much easier to access now.

We still have some bugs to work out but it's coming along nicely.  Feel free to come join the chat!

Actually, I have too, and even joined in the chatrooms. It was okay, what you'd expect from such a place, and yes, it was fun and enlighening, although like most chatrooms, there seems to be a plethora of inside jokes/comments that newbies won't get and can get kinda boring and uncomfortable after awhile. But all in all, the people there seem to be quite personable. But overall, I still prefer this forum...made a lot of good friends now and it's definitely the highlight of my boring days (goddess, I SO need to get a life! ROTFLMGDAO!!) *although have a beef with the auto-censure...grr...;D*
