Senior Villager Group: Member Posts: 329 Joined: 24-May 04 From: Austin - TX Member No.: 4203	Some of us have to drag out the dusty records (or our parents dusty records) to remember Ohio Player's "Love Rollercoaster". The breakdown of the song features a chilling female scream. People claim all sorts of weird things...it was a cover model who was murdered when she demanded money from the band, a house keeper was murdered during the recording, etc. Anyhow, the first time I had someone actully point out the scream in the song it made me break out in goosebumps. I've included the breakdown of the song where you will hear the scream after the singer is done with his "say whats" and "yeahs". And then a clip of just the scream. All I remember about it is that it was supposed to have been from a woman who was actually murdered. How they got it on the record I'll never know, but I don't remember very much being made of it. Not as much as the "ghost" that was captured in the film "Three Men and a Baby." Have you found out anything more about that scream? -------------------- petunia4998

Junior Villager Group: Member Posts: 24 Joined: 30-June 04 From: shawnee, oklahoma Member No.: 4546	the truth behind the scream is that a model who is one the cover of that album..during that shoot the jar she was holding on the cover melted to her hand..and they had to break it off..she went into the studio when the group was recordign the song..she was filing for law suit...the manager then asked her to step outisde of the studion with him..and he stabbed her to death right there..the group then decided to leave the scream on the song for a special memento -------------------- ~~~TERMITE~~~

We read about the urban legend and told him about it. He thought we were crazy but we nagged him enough that he found the vinyl and put Love Rollercoaster on his turntable (yep, he still has that in the basement). So the three of us sat there and Jenjen and I were waiting for the scream part and when it came we're like, aahh! and got all creeped out. Her dad looked at us like we're crazy (in a way we are) and said it was probably some instrumental effect. Whatever it is...Jenjen and I got scared and we loved that feeling. -------------------- I'm here but I'm really Gone

Every single one of the 100 times I heard it. When that urban legend came around, I was measuring my age in 1/4s and my education in grades.
