When I was young...yes, I was young once...folks used to tease kids about how if they swallowed watermelon seeds they would grow a watermelon in their belly.
I 'saw' the report about the tree and I 'wood' not have believed it if I hadn't seen it. It tends to go against the 'grain' of what I think is possible as far as plants growing inside one's body. It does tickle my imagination now but I think I'll just 'leaf' it alone.

I saw this too. That's so weird! My grandma had me going with the whole watermelon seed thing when I was 4 or 5. I knew I swallowed one or two seeds so I was all freaked out.

That is such a strange discovery, I wonder how a plant grew inside someone's organs under those type of conditions.

Trees need sunlight to grow so what the......???? I did see on the news that some doctors think he may have somehow inhaled a small branch instead..but in any case ... what the?????

I've been curious about this story and hope they get to the root of it soon. I'm figuring this will probably branch out into some really strange urban legend things. I could be barking up the wrong tree here.
