What's always got me is that no one has any actual incentive to say these things- aside to prove that it isnt real, so why did anyone say it in the first place?

I did it on a dare.  I was 8 and no one would call me a chicken!

I didn't lose my mind - I have it backed up on a disk ... somewhere

For the Baby Blue thing, I think you start at midnight.
All of these things just probably origingated from ghost stories, then people trying to summon ghosts, then just trying odd-ball things and saying they worked when they didn't, and so on.  This may sound kind of stupid but, the mirror was probably chosen because what could be inside it?  I mean, like who knows what's in there?  Yeah, I know, glass, but maybe it was also chosen because in a mirror, you could see the ghost, if you summoned him/her.  Weird, I know.

I've actually been doing a lot of research on who the real "Bloody Mary" was. The ones I find most beleivable are

Elizabeth Bathory (bathed in maidens blood to stay forever young and beautiful)
Mary Queen of Scots (obsessed with the gilloutine...sp)
And a Tudor Queen whose name just left my mind....can't remember for the life of me! Dang!

As for the whole mirror thing, my cousin scared the b'jesus out if me ine Halloween. She went into the bathroom did the whole chanting thing and put stage makeup blood on her cheeks, screamed bloody murder and pretended to be to afraid to talk about it untill the fake blood washed off....

Mary Tudor, or Mary I depending on what period of her life you looking at... I think she married a Philip of Spain...

The point which I should first wish to understand is whether the pious or holy is beloved by the gods because it is holy, or holy because it is beloved of the gods.

Yes, it was Mary Tudor, half-sister of Elizabeth I and daughter of Henry VIII and his first Queen, Catherine of Argon. She burned hundreds of protestants for heresy, hence giving her the nickname 'Bloody Mary'. She never conceived, yet thought that the stomach tumor that killed her was her nurturing new life. Seems that because she never had a child and had so much blood on her hands that she was doomed to wander forever in bathroom mirrors scaring the bejeezus outta little kids who didn't want to be called 'chicken'! LOL ;D

I thought Bloody Mary was the person who was carrying a disease and giving it to everyone but not ailing from it herself....I think I read this in a book somewhere.
